Nguyen Flops Trips & Improves from There

Tommy Nguyen opened to 9,000 in the hijack and Nazar Buhaiov three-bet to 32,000 in the cutoff. Nguyen called.

Nguyen checked on the flop of K4K and Buhaiov continued for 15,000. Nguyen check-raised to 50,000 and Buhaiov called. Nguyen then checked on the Q turn and Buhaiov checked back.

Nguyen bet 55,000 on the 9 river and Buhaiov called. Nguyen showed KJ for a flush, four-fifths of a straight flush and trips as Buhaiov mucked in defeat.

Coelho Shuts Down Song

Level 3 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Stephen Song opened to 9,000 in the cutoff and Diogo Coelho reraised to 28,000 on the button. Song called and they saw a flop of 1062. Song checked to Coelho who continued with a bet of 25,000. Song check-raised to 70,000 and Coelho called.

The J landed on the turn and both players checked to the 9 on the river, putting four clubs on the board. Song led out with a bet of 45,000 and Coelho countered with a raise to 200,000. Song quickly gave up and conceded the pot to Coelho.

Aido Moves Into Seven Figures

Level 3 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Sergio Aido raised it up on the button but was faced with a three-bet from his countrymate Juan Baraza in the big blind. Aido called and they went heads-up to a flop of QJ6 with around 75,000 in the middle already.

Baraza led out with a bet of 36,000 and Aido called to see the 9 on the turn. Baraza checked this time and Aido announced a bet of 110,000. Baraza gave it some thought but opted to send his cards to the muck.

At the end of the hand, John Racener joined the table for his first attempt at the $25,000 buy-in.

Ladva Sends Marquez to the Rail

With over 240,000 in the middle the turn read 8544 and Ottomar Ladva fired a bet of 85,000 from the big blind. Ana Marquez was the only opponent in the hand and made the call in the cutoff.

When the 6 fell on the river Ladva announced all in for about 445,000. Marquez had roughly 160,000 and dropped a chip across the line to make the call.

Marquez tabled her JJ but was shown the bad news as Ladva rolled KK, sending her out of the tournament.

"Good Call": Zack Picks Off a Bluff

In a three-way pot on a board of 10643, Jean-Noel Thorel, who, despite being seated next to 2022 WSOP Player of the Year Daniel Zack, is the brightest player at the table today, bet before a raise from Zack. Shawn Stroke then called from the next seat and Thorel folded.

Zack checked on the 5 river and Stroke bet 127,000. Zack went deep in the tank before calling.

"Good call," Stroke said as he showed A9 for just ace-high, leading Zack to show K10 to win the pot with top pair.

Pardo Pressures Thorel

Juan Pardo opened to 10,000 from early position and was called by Jean-Noel Thorel on the button. Matt Glantz defended his big blind and came along to the Q26 flop.

Glantz checked and Pardo continued for 12,000. Thorel called while Glantz got out of the way.

The J turn saw Pardo fire a bet of 30,000 and Thorel took a moment before making the call. Pardo bet again on the 5 river, this time for 70,000.

Thorel checked his cards one last time before tossing them into the muck and Pardo took down the pot.

Pocket Nines Good for Fast

Level 3 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Dietrich Fast opened 9,000 in the cutoff and only Ivan Govorov came along from the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of K74, and Govorov check-called a bet of 6,000.

Both players tapped the table when the 6 fell on the turn, and the 2 completed the board on the river. Govorov checked once again to Fast as he fired 27,000 across the line. After only a couple seconds of thought, Govorov made the call.

Fast quickly rolled his 99 and Govorov mucked his hand.

Haxton Pays Petleshkov

Level 3 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Action was heads up to the 1025 flop, where Isaac Haxton checked from the big blind. Viliyan Petleshkov fired 16,000 from early position and the call was made.

Haxton checked again on the 8 turn, making another call after Petleshkov bet 42,000. One last check from Haxton followed the K river, where Petleshkov sized up to 112,000.

After taking a few minutes, Haxton tossed in a calling chip and Petleshkov showed AK for top pair. Haxton mucked his cards and Petleshkov added to his growing stack.

Sammartino Check-Raises Colillas

Ramon Colillas opened from middle position and Dario Sammartino and Brian Kim called in the blinds.

Kim and Sammartino checked on the flop of Q9Q and Colillas continued for 8,000. Kim folded and Sammartino check-raised to 28,000. Colillas laid it down.
