Collopy Off to the Races

With the action folded around to the button, the player there opened the pot with a raise, and Jim Collopy moved all in for another 74,000 from the big blind. After some careful consideration, the raiser made the call, having Collopy just barely covered.

Collopy tabled {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts}, and he was racing for his tournament life against {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts}. "Okay!" he said as he stood from his chair. "We can do this!"

He was right. The dealer ran out a safe board of {10-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {6-Spades} {2-Spades} {4-Spades}, and Collopy has notched a big double. His stack has been up and down like an amusement park ride today, and he now finds himself back close to 200,000 after that hold.

Lacay New Chip Leader

Ludovic Lacay raised to 12,500 before a player behind made it 30,000. Lacay then 4-bet to 86,000 and his opponent shoved.

Lacay had a slight grimace for a second before shrugging and calling.

Lacay: {K-?} {K-?}
Middle Position: {J-?} {J-?}

The board came {9-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {J-Clubs} and Lacay took a huge pot and now has the chip lead with around 565,000.

Rees-Brennan Gets Quad-Dead

An early position raise saw Bennis Najib reraise the 12,000 bet to 35,000. Rory Rees-Brennan moved all-in for 54,000. The initial raiser folded and Najib called.

Najib: {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}
Rees-Brennan: {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}

A decisive {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {4-Spades} board left us with one less Irishman.

Restart

We're off once more trying to whittle the remaining players down as close to the final table as we can manage tonight...

Bubble Bursts!

The bubble has come and gone without much drama, blasting right past hand-for-hand play and on into the money.

The man who called himself "Dali" has earned himself the unenviable title of "Bubble Boy" and it came in the traditional fashion, pocket aces versus the ol' ten-six offsuit.

Dali was down to just a few thousand chips when he peeked down at the {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}. Big stack Benjamin Pollak had the {10-Clubs} {6-Hearts} and plenty of chips to try for the knockout. When the board ran out {6-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {8-Spades}, Dali threw his two black aces up into the air and shouted what we can only assume was profanity in a foreign language. His cards landed on the floor, and he paced slowly away as the last player to make the walk of shame without a payday.

The remaining 54 players are now in the money!
