Day 3 Completed

Delaney Still Holding Heaps after Day 3

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Trevor Delaney
Trevor Delaney

Trevor Delaney is still up top. Coming into Day 3 of 2015 partypoker.net WPT Montreal, Delaney had the second-best stack, behind only Harpreet Gill. After five 90-minute levels, he bagged 3,285,000 as the chip leader for Day 4.

There were just 63 players who returned with chips here at Playground Poker Club for Day 3, and when the clock had ticked to a standstill, only 16 remained.

Only one other player surpassed the two million mark at the end of the day. Craig Stewart counted out 2,425,000 to his name. Coming in third is WPT Champions Club member Brian Altman with 1,965,000.

Darryll Fish will also return on Wednesday with 1,475,000, and Darren Elias (1,000,000), Giacomo Fundaro (765,000), Jason Mann (465,000), and Carter Swidler (430,000) will also be back in their seats tomorrow.

Some of the players who were eliminated on Day 3 to collect their payout included Scott Davies (28th - $13,370), Anthony Zinno (31st - $13,370), Cornel Cimpan (36th - $13,370), Mike Linster (39th - $11,490), Jeff Madsen (40th - $11,490), Marc-Etienne McLaughlin (50th - $9,850), and Freddy Deeb ($8,210).

Action resumes at noon tomorrow and will continue until a final table of six players has been established — just one day away from the top prize of $433,410 CAD. PokerNews will, of course, be on the tournament floor bringing you updates of all the action, so follow along right here.

Gameboy's Back; 18 Remain

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

A lot of preflop aggression ended up with Mads Fournaise pushing all in and Vi Thanh Tony To snap-called.

To jumped up on his seat, standing on the chair after he flipped over {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. Fournaise shrugged and turned over {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

The board ran {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, giving the huge pot to To. After finding himself down to less than a single big blind last level, this is an incredible comeback for To in his Nintendo Gameboy hoodie which has earned him a new nickname.

"Gameboy's back!" he yelled, running around the tournament room.

With Fournaise's elimination, just 18 players remain and seats are being redrawn again. They will play to the end of this level before pausing for the night.

Gualtieri Gets it In with the Best

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Just before break began, Joe Gualtieri pushed all in on a flop of {8-}{4-}{8-} and eventually got a call out of Harpreet Gill. Gualtieri had the best of it with {q-}{q-} and Gill held {10-}{10-}.

The turn brought a {2-}, but the river was a {10-}, giving Gill the set and eliminating his opponent.

"Ohhhh," shouted everyone who witnessed the hand.

"Sorry," said Gill as he eyed up the pile of chips being pushed to his side of the table.
