On the turn the {K-Clubs} hit and both players checked.

The river was the {J-Hearts} and Van Brugge lead for 39,000 and Mizzi called.

Van Brugge showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and that was enough to take down the pot.

Yachou Shoves All In

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded to Farid Yachou on the button and he opened to 35,000. The small blind folded but Giacomo Fundaro in the big blind had bigger plans. He three-bet to 95,000 and without much hesitation, Yachou shoved all in for 183,000 more. Fundaro tanked for some time, asked the dealer to pull the 95,000 in, and eventually folded.

Van Brugge Keeps Betting

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Sandro Pitzanti limped in from the small blind and big blind Kees van Brugge raised it up to 40,000. Pitzanti made the call.

Pitzanti gently tapped the table after the {4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{K-Diamonds} flop was spread. Van Brugge bet 41,000 and Pitzanti called.

The {5-Spades} hit the turn and this time Pitzanti check-called a bet of 80,000.

The {6-Diamonds} completed the board and Pitzanti checked a third time. Van Brugge took his time making his decision. He eventually announced his bet; 165,000. Pitzanti tanked for a bit before releasing his hand into the muck.

There Will Be a Dinner Break After This Level

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

No dinner break was announced yet at the start of the day as tournament director Christian Scalzi first wanted to see how things would go. It's clear that there is need for a dinner break today, as still 12 players remain and the stacks are deep. It's therefor decided that a 1-hour dinner break will start at the end of this level (in a little over an hour).

Yachou Makes His Move

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Farid Yachou raised to 35,000 and Giacomo Fundaro called in position after which the flop brought out {J-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

Yachou bet 50,000 on the flop and Fundaro made the call.

On the turn the {A-Diamonds} hit and Yachou opted to check. Founder bet 103,000 and quickly Yachou moved all in for 258,000.

Fundaro looked back down at his cards and folded right away, giving up this pot to Yachou.

Pitzanti Wins Much Needed Pot

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Sandro Pitzanti raised to 35,000 in the hijack and Pim van Riet in the big blind made the call. Van Riet check-called a bet of 35,000 on {2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, only for the two of them to check the {K-Clubs} on the turn. The river {5-Clubs} made Van Riet bet out 55,000. Pitzanti called, and won with his {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades} from Van Riet's {A-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

Van Riet Loses Some

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Pim van Riet
Pim van Riet

Pim van Riet has been very much under the radar all day, but his stack is still very prominent with 12 players remaining. Just now we saw Van Riet lose one, but he still had more than a million chips.

We picked up the action on the flop that showed {4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}, and Van Riet check-called 60,000 from the small blind.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and this time both players checked.

On the river the {A-Hearts} hit and Van Riet checked a third time. Jason Wheeler, his opponent, bet 150,000 and that was too rich for the Dutchman.

Giacomo Fundaro Eliminated in 12th Place (€14,650)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Giacomo Fundaro
Giacomo Fundaro

Giacomo Fundaro opened to 35,000 from the hijack and his neighbor Aki Pyysing three-bet to 85,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Fundaro and he made to call to see a flop of {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Fundaro checked and Pyysing made a bet of 85,000. Fundaro check-raised all in for 310,000 and Pyysing instantly called.

Aki Pyysing: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Giacomo Fundaro: {7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The {J-Hearts} on the turn was a good card for Fundaro, but the {J-Spades} didn't improve his hand the way he needed. The last Italian takes home €14,650.

Wheeler Takes a Big Hit

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jason Wheeler raised to 35,000 and Pim van Riet called from the big blind. The flop brought out {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Van Riet check-called 60,000.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and this time Van Riet check-called 85,000.

On the river the {9-Clubs} hit and Van Riet checked a third time. Wheeler fired 205,000 this time around and Van Riet made the call.

Wheeler looked back down at his cards before mucking, and that meant Van Riet did not have to show. Van Riet raked in this big pot and he's once again the chip leader.
