Shatilov Down

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Andrey Shatilov, who finished 16th at this event last year, has just been eliminated. While he didn't really want to discuss his exit hand, he simply said, "I lost many little pots," before telling us he would be re-entering the WPT again tomorrow.

Trickett Slows Down

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jamila Von Perger opened to 750 preflop and received one caller before Sam Trickett made it 2,200 in the cutoff. Von Perger called while the other player folded before the {J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop. Von Perger checked and Trickett bet 1,800 which Von Perger called.

The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Von Perger checked a second time, Trickett bet 2,500 this time but Von Perger now made a small check-raise to 5,700. Trickett looked a little perplexed but wore it with a smile, "Jacks full?" he asked though it seemed to be more of a statement than a question. Finally, the Englishman let go of his hand.

Just the Trickett

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Sam Trickett has just sat down behind the PokerNews Live Reporting Team in the WPT event. He's remarkably good spirits despite describing his experience at the Party Poker Cash Game last night as 'one of the worst of my life.'

He's shrugged it off pretty quickly though. Instantly in with a three-bet and a massage. Standard Trickett.

A Few Hands with Dominik Nitsche

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Dominik Nitsche is all nervous energy at the table. When he doesn’t have cards in front of him he is tapping on his phone or fiddling hyperactively with his chips, but when he does have cards he is scanning the table like a Meerkat with a concealed flick-knife. PokerNews spent a while at his table to see how he is getting on. At this stage he was sitting on a healthy stack of around 57,000.

Rinat Bogdanov, who has been fairly active at the table, bet 700 from first position and Nitsche defended from the big blind. We saw a flop of {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. NItsche check / folded when Bogdanov bet.

Nitsche then folded his button facing a bet. The next hand, again facing a bet of 700, this time from the player to his direct right, he raised to 1,700 and took it down without any resistance.

Nitsche folded the next hand but opened the hand after for 700. Facing a raise from Oleg Suntsov to 1,800 Nitsche asked for a count, and deciding they were deep enough, made the call. The two players saw a flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} which was duly checked around. The turn was the {j-Diamonds} prompting Nitsche to bet 1,200 and call a raise of 2,500.

The river card was the {q-Diamonds} and when Nitsche checked Suntsov bet 2,500. This prompted Nitsche to think for a while and mull over his options. The one he chose was a raise but was quickly called and responded “You win.” Turning over his {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Suntsov did win with {q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Ouch.

Double For Karamanov

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Karen Karamanov is back in the hunt after he doubled through the awesomely named Tomer Lidor with {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} versus {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and a board of {5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Karamanov is now up to 22,000 while Lidor dropped to just 4,000.

Chip Counts

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

A Shou-In

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Rami Shouman looks to be the first player over the 100,000 mark after he bet all three streets of an {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} board against Roger Hairabedian. The latter called him down but Shouman flipped over {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the turned straight to win the pot.
