Von Perger Doubles Up

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Jamila Von Perger
Jamila Von Perger

Jamila Von Perger opened for 3,000 and was called by Ofer Stem on the button. They saw a flop of {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}. Von Perger continued for 4,500 and faced a raise from Stem to 10,500. She took her time and made the call. The turn brought the {8-Hearts}. Von Perger checked and when Stem moved all in she wasted no time in calling and showing {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for top two pair. Stem was on a straight draw with {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} but then {q-Diamonds} on the river was no help.

Samaha Hitting New Heights

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Mikhail Morozov minraised from the button and Bernard Samaha called in the big blind to see an {A-}{J-}{4-} flop. Samaha check-called a 4,500 bet, resulting in a {5-} coming on the turn. Samaha checked again and Morozov bet 7,500 this time but Samaha made it 22,000. The Latvian moved all in and Samaha made the call.

Samaha: {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Morozov: {A-}{3-}

A meaningless {K-} came on the river and Samaha has massively increased his chip lead.

Bogdan gets a Move On

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Max Droege had berated Bart Bogdan early in the level for taking a long time to come to a decision and warned that he was not afraid to call the clock if it continued saying at this rate they would get four hands an hour.

Droege raised to 3,100 from the cut-off and Bogdan was his only caller from the big blind. They saw a flop of {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Bogdan checked, Droege checked. The turn was the {7-Spades} and Bogdan took very little time in betting 13,100. Droege took even less time to fold and commented. “That’s how it’s done sir.”

He didn’t win the pot but he seemed satisfied that he had got his point across.

A Gore-y End

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Guy Gorelik was all in for his last 20,000 or so on a {J-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop with {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} but Boris Yanpolskiy had him beat with {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. The {8-Diamonds} turn and {10-Clubs} river changed nothing and Gorelik was eliminated.

Kemal Sevevi though was incensed as he said that Yanpolskiy has been talking in Russian during hand. Sevevi and Yanpolskiy do not seem to be getting on too well so any hands between the pair could prove to be very interesting...

Fundaro Folds to Five bet

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Bernard Samaha had raised to 6,400 and Giacomo Fundaro raised him right back to 17,000. Samaha has a stack to do what he wants though and sent out a message to Fundaro and the table with a bet of 46,400. Fundaro thought for a while, and even checked his cards again in case they had turned into aces. They hadn’t and he folded.

Oleg Up

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

A double up for Oleg Suntsov. He'd already won with ace-king against queens earlier when he found himself in the classic flip for a second time, but in this case, he had the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} against Siyar Erzen's {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.

Again the board came in favour of the Russian, coming {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} to make him a full house. Erzen has been crippled as a result.

Sam Trickett Out

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Sam Trickett
Sam Trickett

Mikhail Shevchuk seemingly misread the action and flat called a bet preflop. Sam Trickett moved all in and, when it got back to him, Shevchuk called and tabled {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} against Trickett’s {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Trickett had noticed what happened and said, “So annoying.” The cards fell {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Tricket’s Cyprus WPT run was at an end.
