Dunst Loses One to Lee

Doug Lee
Doug Lee
A player in middle position raised to 1,050 and one player called before action moved around to Tony Dunst. He reraised to 3,700 in the cutoff seat. Doug Lee was on the button and made the call. The original raiser also called and then the next player folded.

The three players saw a flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and action checked around to Lee. He fired 5,000 and only Dunst called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and Dunst checked again. Lee fired 12,000 and Dunst folded, allowing Lee to scoop the pot and move up to 55,000 chips.

Controversy Between Hershler and Stout

Hershler pleading his case
Hershler pleading his case
Matt Stout raised from middle position to 1,050 before the next player to act made the call. Action then folded around to Eric Hershler in the big blind and he said, "Ten-fifty," before tossing out a T10,000 chip and a T00 chip. Stout claimed that it was a raise to 10,050, which caused Hershler to erupt with dispute.

Hershler claimed that he wasn't raising but calling and that it was obvious he was only making the call. The floor was called and it took not one, not two, not three, but four floor members to come over to the table and get the argument under control. Hershler called Stout an angle shooter and said, "I can't believe I'm getting cheated like this! What an angle shot!"

Stout got extremely upset and angry that he was being called an angle shooter and cheater and shot back at Hershler before the floor quieted him. Hershler stood from his chair and pleaded with multiple floor members, all of whom ruled that it was a raise. He never said call or raise, all he did say was "Ten-fifty," and tossed out the aforementioned chips. The argument went on for several minutes and a crowd gathered around the table to see what all the commotion was.

After it was finally ruled that it was a raise, Stout moved all in for 14,875 total. Hershler tanked for a minute or two and then made the call. "I hope you win, Eric," said Stout. "So you don't have to call me an angle shooter and a cheat for the rest of the day." He held the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Hershler held the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

The board ran out {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Stout doubled up to around 30,000 chips. Hershler was left with under 20,000 chips and steaming about what just happened. Fortunately, the table broke after the next hand and all the players were spread out amongst the remaining tables so no further arguing could ensue.

Sometimes, You Just Gotta Hit Three Outers

After a flop of {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, Ted Lawson was faced with an all-in bet from an opponent. Eventually, Lawson said, "All right, I call." and tabled {A-?}{K-?}. His opponent was ahead with the {A-?}{10-?}. The turn was one of the three remaining kings with the {K-Clubs} and the river ended things with the {6-Clubs}. Lawson got out-flopped first and then resucked the life out of his opponent's tournament. He's up to 58,000 now.

Froehlich Roaring Back

Eric Froehlich's stack had dipped all the way down to 6,000 chips earlier in the day. Now he's back up to 41,000 after a strong turn check-raise. Froehlich, Jeff Madsen and one other player took a raise flop of {9-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}. Madsen and Froehlich checked; the third player bet 2,750. Only Froehlich called.

The turn came {7-Spades}. Froehlich checked, then moved all in for about 26,000 after his opponent bet 6,250. Froehlich's opponent tanked for about a minute and then folded.

Yeh Picks Up Chips

Anthony Yeh checked the flop of {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{5-Spades} and the next player fired 2,100. The third player in the hand folded and Yeh made the call.

The turn went check, check after the board paired with the {Q-Diamonds}. The river was the {4-Clubs} and Yeh checked. HIs opponent fired a bet of 2,700 and Yeh called again.

"You're good," said Yeh's opponent, to which Yeh tabled the {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for two pair, kings and queens. His opponent mucked and Yeh improved to 44,000 chips.

Flack Still Heading Pack

After the hijack seat limped in, Layne Flack raised to 1,300 from the cutoff. Dan Smith was in the big blind and reraised to 4,300. The hijack seat got out of the way and then Flack made it 41,300 to go, putting Smith all in. Smith tanked for a few moments and then let his hand go. Flack is up to 126,000 and still leading the field while Smith dropped to 22,300.
