Klodnicki vs. Barber

Just before the level up, Chris Klodnicki raised to 4,000 under the gun and action folded all the way around to Andrew Barber in the big blind. He promptly moved all in for 25,400 and Klodnicki snap-called.

Barber: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Klodnicki: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

It was another race situation, with Barber trailing. That quickly changed when the {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{K-Spades} flop paired his ace, giving him a big lead. The {6-Spades} turn changed nothing and Barber needed to dodge a jack on the river to stay alive. That is exactly what he did as the {3-Clubs} appeared.

Lee Busted in 19th Place

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Bernard Lee
Bernard Lee

Andrew Barber moved all in from the button for about 45,000 and Bernard Lee, who had less chips, called off from the small blind.

Lee: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Barber: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

It was a race situation, but not after the flop fell {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. Barber had hit the ace to take the lead, which he kept as the {10-Diamonds} hit the turn followed by the {7-Diamonds} on the river. With Lee's elimination in 19th place, the remaining 18 players are redrawing tables.

West Walks

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Tim West entered the pot from the cutoff for 5,200 only to have Adam Hui three-bet to 14,700 from the big blind.

With the action back on West, he paused for a few moments before moving all in for an additional 49,600 with Hui making the call.

West: {J-Spades}{10-Spades}
Hui: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

With West needing to spike to stay alive, the {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{A-Clubs} board would see him forced to exit the tournament as Hui climbed to 170,000 in chips.

Isra Out

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Roland Isra pushed for roughly 38,000 from under the gun and Charles Moore made the call from the small blind.

Isra: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Moore: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The board rolled out {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} to see Isra bumped to the rail as Moore moves to 120,000 in chips.

Big Stacks Collide

As we predicted, it didn't take long for two of our big stacks to mix it up. In a recent hand, Sam Barnhart limped under the gun and inspired La Sengphet to do the same from middle position. Both Stanley Quinn and Jonathan Poche came along in the blinds and four players saw a flop of {J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{A-Hearts}.

Surprisingly, everyone checked and the {6-Spades} was put out on the turn. Quinn bet 5,500, Poche flatter, Barnhart folded, and Sengphet woke up with a raise to 16,700. Quinn quickly got out of the way, but Poche decided to make the call. When the {2-Spades} peeled off on the river, Poche checked and Sengphet fired out 40,700. Poche tanked before giving up on the hand.

A Short-Stacked Lee Pushes

Bernard Lee has had a rough run of it as of late. He began the day around 70,000 but lost a few pots that dropped him down to 24,300. In a recent hand, action folded to Lee in the small blind and he moved all in. Choctaw Casino Champ and Main Event runner-up Traci Brown was in the big blind and contemplated the call. The problem was she only had about 30,000 herself. She must have decided to find a better spot and quietly mucked, letting Lee add a few thousand to his stack.

Big Stacks at the Same Table

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Our current chip leader Jonathan Poche was recently moved to the same table as La Sengphet, who appears to be the second biggest stack. Both players have been mixing it up and playing aggressive, so we imagine there will be some fireworks from this table; however, we only need to lose three more players until another table redraw, so time is fleeting.

Mavro Behind, Ahead Then Behind and Out

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Peter Mavro eliminated
Peter Mavro eliminated

La Sengphet opened to 5,500 from the cutoff only to have Peter Mavro move all in from the big blind for 25,700. Sengphet made the call to put Mavro at risk for the second time within as many orbits.

Sengphet: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Mavro: {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop saw Mavro take the lead, and when the {6-Hearts} landed on the turn he was set for a double.

Unfortunately the poker Gods were planning a cruel twist of fate as the {4-Diamonds} spiked on the river to send Mavro tumbling to the rail as Sengphet soared back up to 160,000 in chips.
