Holder Eliminated, Heads-Up Play, and the Point Situation

John Holder - 3rd Place
John Holder - 3rd Place

Holder Doubles Through Moore - 10:19 PM

Charles "Woody" Moore was on the button and raised to 130,000. John Holder then moved all in from the small blind for 585,000 and Moore made the call with {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Holder, who held {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}, was in good shape to double. The {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop changed nothing and neither did the {4-Spades} on the turn. Moore needed to catch and ace on the river to eliminate Holder, but couldn't do so as the {4-Hearts} appeared.

John Holder Eliminated in 3rd Place ($44,787) - 10:29 PM

It took awhile but we have finally lost another player. In this particular hand, Charles "Woody" Moore limped from the small blind and John Holder raised to 200,000. Moore moved all in and Holder made the call.

Moore: {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Holder: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and Moore took down the pot, along with a 3-1 chip lead into heads-up play. Meanwhile, Holder became out 3rd place finisher.

Heads-Up Play and Implications - 10:45 PM

Kevin Calenzo and Charles "Woody" Moore are no stranger to one another. Both were final tablists at the last WSOP-C stop in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In that event, Calenzo finished ninth ($8,103) while Moore took fifth ($21,795). At that circuit stop, both also managed to rack up some National Leaderboard points.

Calenzo was awarded 30 points for his performance in the Main Event while Moore scored 50 points plus 7.5 in other events. Both players have not only improved on their past Main Event final table appearances, they're also going to add to their National Leaderboard point total. In this case, the winner will automatically be qualified for the National Championship to be held in May at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas; meanwhile, the runner-up will add 75 points to his total and position himself among the top of the leaderboard. No matter how it turns out, both men will be in great position to earn a shot at playing for $1 million and a WSOP bracelet.

Moore Raises Calenzo Off - 10:53 PM

From the button, Kevin Calenzo raised to 140,000. Charles "Woody" Moore called from the big blind.

Moore check-raised to 525,000 instantly and Calenzo folded. Moore showed just the {4-Clubs} and pulled ahead to four million in chips to Calenzo's 1.8 million.

Calenzo Pulls One Back - 10:59 PM

Kevin Calenzo raised from the button to 140,000 and Charles "Woody" Moore called from the big blind. The flop came down {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Moore check-called a bet of 125,000 from Calenzo.

Moore Wins with Turn Bet - 11:18 PM

"You Didn't Have a Flush Draw?" - 11:25 PM

Kevin Calenzo was on the button and raised an additional 80,000 and Charles "Woody" Moore made the call. The flop came down {A-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Moore checked to Calenzo who bet 155,000. Moore announced a raise and made it 555,000 to go. Calenzo mucked and Moore showed {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. "You didn't have a flush draw?" Moore asked, clearly hoping his opponent did and was willing to chase.
