Ace On The River

Ray Jennings was among the leaders all day yesterday, but has struggled just to survive here on Day 2.

After a pre-flop raising war moments ago, the St. Louis native was faced with a call for his last 49k and tournament life.

After a few minutes in the tank, he finally made it, felting {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}.

He was up against tens, got no help from the {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, or the {4-Spades} turn, but as he was getting up to leave, the {a-Spades} river came down and saved Ray's day.

He's now back up to 150k and in with a shot as the money bubble approaches

Huy Nguyen will not be a repeat champion here at Choctaw Casino and Resort - he was eliminated in unknown action. He might be disappointed but he picked up his third WSOPC gold ring yesterday in the Turbo event.

Layne Flack Eliminated in Made for TV Hand

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Layne Flack lost to quads.
Layne Flack lost to quads.

Unfortunately, we were unable to catch the action on the hand, but the players at the table were kind enough to fill us in on the details. Larry Grayson was in the small blind and Layne Flack was in the big blind. It was a blind vs. blind hand that saw Grayson open with a raise and Flack re-raised. Grayson flatted and the flop came out {6-} {8-} {Q-}.

Grayson checked, Flack bet, Grayson put in a substantial raise and Flack shoved. Grayson called and the hands were tabled.

Grayson: {A-} {Q-}
Flack: {6-} {6-}

The turn paired the board with a queen - giving Flack a full house and Grayson trips. The dealer burned and peeled off the river - another queen!

Grayson had Flack covered and his quads sent Flack to the rail.

Tuck and Run

Bronson Tucker just jumped up to a spot among the leaders after a massive hand with Primo Niyati.

Tucker opened the hand with a 5,200 chip raise and Niyati flatted with {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The flop came {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{j-} and after a 9k C-Bet from Tucker, Niyati flatted again.

The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and a 15k bet from Tucker, which Niyati flatted again.

Tucker then checked the seemingly innocuous {2-Spades} river, but when Niyati led out for 25k, he check-raised it up to 60k.

Niyati called and was shown dueces for the rivered boat.
