Wright Wins Hand & Earns Penalty

We had three players in the hand and after the flop the action got confusing. The board showed {10-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {2-Hearts} and the player in the one seat announced all in. Larry Wright was in the seat next to her and verbally announced call without putting any chips in the middle.

As soon as the player in the one seat heard the call she turned over her hand. Wright then also tabled his hand but there was still a player left to act in the five seat. It was realized fairly quickly that the player in the five seat had yet to act and Wright and other player turned their hands back over.

A floorman just happened to be standing near the table and instructed the player in the five seat to act on his hand before any ruling would be made. The player folded but was upset about the situation.

Wright held {4-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} and the player in the one seat held {10-Spades} {9-Spades}. The board completed {A-Hearts} {2-Spades} and she was eliminated. The floorman gave Wright a one round penalty for exposing his hand early after dragging the pot. Some at the table protested but the floorman said she would have earned a penalty as well.

14 Tables

Just 14 tables remain here in the WSOPC Choctaw Main Event, but it's the 14th where all the chips and all the action seems to be right now.

With big stacks Teddy Gill, Cristobal Romano, Larry Grayson and the upsurging Justin Gardenhire all seated together, there appears to be as many chips in play at Table 14 as the rest of the field combined. Add that to the fact they keep butting heads and we've been forced to keep a close eye on the action over there.

Just recently, Gardenhire got into the mix min-raising from middle position. Romano made it 24k to go from the small blind and after Gardenhire called, the dealer revealed a {k-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop.

Romano led out for 50k, but when Gardenhire shoved, he was put in a rather awkward position, needing a little more than 180,000 to make the call.

Romano chose to fold big slick face up instead, claiming he feared Gardenhire had hearts and a heart was on the way.

Jahanguiri Hits the Turn

Rod Jahanguiri opened for 10,500 and the player directly to his left moved all in for around 65,000. Action folded back around to Jahanguiri and he called.

Jahanguiri: {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts}

The board ran {9-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} and Jahanguiri chipped up to 220,000.

On The Green

Brian Green just found another short stack to pick on and has it up to 475,000.

The short stack opened for a raise, Green shoved with nines and after shorty called for his last 60k with {k-}{j-} the race was on.

Shorty flopped a jack, but Green rivered a nine to make set and continue his ascend.

Imminent Collision

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Big stacks Cristobal Romano and Teddy Gill are now seated at the same table and seem to be headed on a collision course.

Moments ago, Gill limped into a pot from middle position only to see Romano pump it up to 25k total. A short stack in the small blind shoved for 26,500 more and after Gill passed, Romano made the call showing {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

The shorty had tens and an ace on the flop did him in. However, Gill was left wondering what could have been when the board finished up {4-}{5-}{6-}{7-}.

Apparently he had pocket eights.

"I shouldn't fold anything," he said, as Romano raked in the pot.
