The player counter on the clock had been stuck at 191 for several hours, but it has just ticked up by one. We're not sure who the last latecomer was, but it's brought us up to 192 players so far, with registration open right until the end of the flight.
To buy in any later than this would be less than ideal, however. The Day 1b flight kicks off at 7:00pm this evening.
The player from under the gun limped into the pot and action folded around to Garry Gates in the big blind. Gates tapped the table and the flop rolled out . Both players checked and the turn came . The UTG player bet 200 and Gates called. The river brought the and both players checked again. Gates tabled and his opponent mucked.
We just heard a floor call, so we followed the suit over to the table in question to see what was what. When we arrived to the preflop action, Alexandru Masek's cards were mucked with the showing up. He had accidentally exposed a card as he folded, and that's a very bad thing indeed. Here on the WSOP Circuit, exposing cards with action pending is nearly always cause for a penalty, and Masek was given an orbit off for his mistake.
An early position player limped for 200 and action folded to Jacob Bazeley on the button and he made it 700 to go. The small blind called, as well as, the original limper. The flop came and action checked to Bazeley. He bet 1,100, the small blind called and the limper folded. The turn brought the on board and both players checked to see the river.
The small blind bet 2,000 and Bazeley took a few moments before mucking his hand.
