Jablonski Bounced

Stan Jablonski has been in eliminated in 32nd place, good enough for a $4,509 payday.

Jablonski had become short-stacked a little earlier in a hand that saw him up against an opponent holding {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} versus Jablonski's {A-}{A-}. The board brought three hearts and a flush to his opponent, sending Jablonski down around 80,000.

He'd fight back, though, and was back up around 230,000 when a hand developed in which he opened for 25,000 from middle position, then Douglas MacKinnon reraised to 60,000 from the button. The action back on Jablonski, he shoved all in and MacKinnon quickly called.

Jablonski had {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and was racing versus MacKinnon's {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}. The board then came {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, and MacKinnon's jacks remained best.

Will's Power

It folded around to Ryan Moriarity in the small blind, who took a look at his neighbor Will Failla's short stack and then set out a stack of gray chips for a raise, enough to put Failla all in. Failla sat back.

"Ahhh... I know you have like king-three or something," he said. Finally after about a half-minute, Failla called the raise, putting himself all in for 72,000 total.

Failla turned over {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}, and Moriarty tabled his hand... {K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}!

"I was pretty close," cracked Failla.

The flop came {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, then the turn brought the {J-Clubs} as if to reward Failla for his read. The river was the {7-Spades}, and Failla doubled to survive.

"Hey, at least I didn't snap call," Failla said afterwards as he was stacking his chips. "It was... sprinkly."

The table laughed in response. "You better spell that for the blog," suggested someone, and Failla obliged with a unique and wholly inaccurate spelling.

"Oh, and can you say I had jack-queen?" he added with a grin.

A Few Chip Counts

Kerstetter Falls to Fish

Brandon Fish opened to 23,000 from early position and Jamie Kerstetter three-bet jammed for about 120,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Fish who called with {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}, racing with Kerstetter's {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

The board rolled out {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} as Fish paired his king on the river to send Kerstetter to the rail in 34th place.

Pender Out

Joshua Pender was just eliminated in 37th place, making him the last player to cash for $3,604.

Pender was all in on his final hand with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} against the {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} of Travell Thomas. The flop came {8-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}, giving Thomas a set and reducing Pender's chances to less than slim.

But the {2-Diamonds} fell on the river. "It's not over," said a player across the table, noting the flush draw for Pender. Then came the river — the {A-Hearts}. "It's over, now," came the addendum.

With Pender's elimination, they're now down to four tables. Meanwhile, Thomas has had some day, having begun with just over 13,000 (and even considering not returning), he's now up over 320,000 and with nearly an average chip stack with 36 left.

Fish on a Roll

Zachary Hall started the action with an all-in shove for 110,000 from the hijack. Next to act was Brandon Fish and he re-raised all in over the top. It folded to the player in the big blind who called all in for about 230,000 with {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}. Fish tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Hall turned over {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}.

The board ran out {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} as Fish was out outflopped, but made a flush on the turn to score the double elimination.

To balance tables, Sumit Kumar was moved over with his stack of about 50,000. He got it in right away, but ran into Fish's pocket aces. Kumar found no help from the board to give another pot to Fish.

Failla Hangs On

Will "The Thrill" Failla is hanging on, having just doubled up to take a few chips back from Adam Teasdale.

The hand saw Teasdale open with a min-raise to 16,000 from middle position, then Failla called from the big blind, leaving himself but 30,000 or so behind. The flop came {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{K-Spades}, Failla set out his remaining chips, and Teasdale called.

"Nuts," said Failla, showing {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for a hand that had connected with the board. Teasdale showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}, and after the {8-Diamonds} turn and {9-Spades} river, Failla survived.
