Rothfolk Picks It Up

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Andrew Rothfolk, who recently finished in third place at the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah's Tunica Main Event, is in the field and attempting to make something happen by firing his second bullet today.

When we came upon him he took a flop with two others in a raise pot. The dealer fanned {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and Rothfolk and the second player checked. The original raiser c-bet for 400 and Rothfolk came right over the top to 1,050. The third player folded and Rothfolk's opponent called.

The {10-Hearts} turned and Rothfolk continued with the aggression by betting 1,325. A call prompted the {6-Spades} to fall and pair the board. The action went check-check and Rothfolk showed {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a turned pair of tens. His opponent mucked and he picked up the pot, bringing his stack to about 22,000.

Deeb in the House

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Fresh off of signing a new lease in the Sunshine State of Florida today, Shaun Deeb is in the building to play Day 1b of the 2012-13 World Series of Poker Circuit Palm Beach Kennel Club Main Event.

He was just heads up with a player on a board of {4-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The player check-called a 3,525-chip bet from Deeb, and the river was the {j-Clubs}. Both players checked.

Deeb's opponent tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for kings and jacks, prompting Deeb to muck his hand and return his focus to the Open Face Chinese Poker game on his iPhone.

Re-Entry!

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Here are a few more players who have re-entered on Day 1b.

Yang Bets Out Phillips

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

An early position player opened to 150 and Jerry Yang called from the cutoff. Carter Phillips tagged along from the button and the blinds folded.

The flop was {6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and there were two checks to Phillips. He fired out 325 and the original raiser got out of the way. Yang stuck around and the {7-Hearts} hit fourth street. Both players tapped the table and the board completed with the {J-Clubs}. Yang took this opportunity to bet 575 and Phillips sat thinking for about forty-five seconds before releasing his cards and awarding Yang the pot.

Cohen Has "Something Like That"

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Sam Cohen and an opponent were heads up on a board of {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Cohen tossed out a bet for 525, her opponent raised to 1,400, and Cohen responded with a re-raised to 3,500. The player called.

The river was the {6-Spades}, and Cohen checked. The player quickly checked behind.

"King-high," Cohen announced.

The player didn't show.

"King-high," she echoed.

"I can beat that," he finally said, showing {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for ace-high.

Cohen mucked, and the player raked in the pot.

"King-high flush draw?" he asked her.

"Something like that," she responded.
