Hinkles Butt Heads in Blinds

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Blind versus blind turned into brother versus brother, as Blair Hinkle opened to 36,000 from the small blind and Grant Hinkle called. The normally-silent Blair ribbed his brother about putting the wrong amount of chips in the pot as the dealer laid out the flop. Blair checked the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, and Grant bet 30,000. Blair called, and the brothers saw a {J-Spades} turn. After they both checked the scary board, an {A-Clubs} came on the river. Blair fired out 104,000, and Grant folded.

Blair said he had jacks and expressed the wish that Grant would have three-bet him to save him the trouble of sweating out that board.

Scott Sharpe Eliminated in 14th Place ($7,612)

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Scott Sharpe - 14th Place
Scott Sharpe - 14th Place

Sean Small opened for 24,000 from the cutoff and then snap-called when Scott Sharpe, who you may recall entered the day with the chip lead, moved all in for roughly 185,000 from the big blind.

Sharpe: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Small: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

Sharpe leaned back in his chair and seem a bit demoralized. He stoically awaited his fate as the {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} board ran out, and then slowly made his way to the payout desk in 14th place to collect $7,612.

Shawn Meyer Eliminated in 15th Place ($7,612)

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Shawn Meyer - 15th Place
Shawn Meyer - 15th Place

Brendan Waite had just scooped up a pot and was in the middle of stacking chips when he checked his cards under the gun. He raised to 32,000, and a short-stacked Thomas Meyer went all in for 95,000. Sean Small, in the big blind, went all in over the top of that for 263,000 total. Waite instantly called.

Waite: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Small: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Meyer: {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The flop brought little hope for the Small and Meyer: {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}. A {5-Spades} on the turn eliminated Meyer from the pot and the tournament in 15th place, but a {j-Diamonds} on the river gave Small new life. Mark Bonsack commented that it was the case jack.

William Perpich Eliminated in 17th Place ($6,334); Andy Krakowski 16th ($6,334)

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Andy Krakowski - 16th Place
Andy Krakowski - 16th Place

Within minutes after William Perpich was eliminated in 17th place for $6,334, Andy Krakowski joined him on the in 16th.

It happened when Krakowski shoved his last chips in on a {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop only to be called by the {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} of Phil Mader. The {A-Spades} turn gave Mader two pair, and the {8-Clubs} river was the last card Krakowski would see in the WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Council Bluffs Main Event.

Robert Cheung Eliminated in 18th Place ($6,334)

Level 22 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Robert Cheung - 18th Place
Robert Cheung - 18th Place

Trevor Deeter opened in middle position, Robert Cheung three-bet in the small blind, and Deeter made the call. Cheung checked the {8-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop, and Deeter checked behind him. Cheung again checked after the {Q-Hearts} turned, but this time Deeter bet 53,000. Cheung called without much thought, and checked the {2-Clubs} river.

"Be careful," Cheung said as noted his opponent's heavy breathing. "It's only a card came."

Deeter, however, was anything but careful, and put Cheung all in for his last 153,000.

"I don't know why I'm not instant calling," Cheung said. He recapped the hand aloud to himself for a few minutes, then finally called. His opponent revealed the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for the nut flush, and Cheung turned over {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} to be eliminated in 18th place.

The two-table redraw will now occur with 17 players remaining.

Garcia Back Near Top

Level 22 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Thomas Beckstead - 19th Place
Thomas Beckstead - 19th Place

According to Cord Garcia, Thomas Beckstead opened under the gun, and everyone folded to him.

"I'd like to wager all my units," Garcia said, which put Beckstead at risk. Beckstead made the call with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}, but Garcia held the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Beckstead did not improve, and he hit the rail in 19th.

Tsinis Loses Last Few Chips

Level 22 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Arkadiy Tsinis, crippled a few hands ago, got his last few chips all in preflop holding the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and was racing against the {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} of Scott Sharpe. The {9-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop failed to help Tsinis, and the {4-Spades} turn left him drawing dead as it gave Sharpe a set. The meaningless {2-Hearts} was run out on the river and Tsinis made his way to the payout desk in 20th place.

Tsinis Crippled

Level 22 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Cord Garcia moved all in with 222,000 from the cutoff. The button and small blind folded, and Arkady Tsinis sighed and asked for a count. He thought for a few minutes while sipping his water before finally calling.

Tsinis: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Garcia: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

"Puppy feet," Garcia said after {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flopped. Indeed, his newfound flush draw left Tsinis drawing slim, and {6-Spades} and {j-Spades} changed nothing. Tsinis was left with a scant 16,000.
