Nuts for Van Brugge

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Niko Mykkanen is very active on the bubble and is coming in with a lot of raises. Now, Mykkanen opened from under the gun and Kees van Brugge defended his big blind.

Both players checked the {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} flop. Van Brugge bet 21,000 on the {3-Diamonds} turn and 41,000 on the {K-Hearts} river. Mykkanen called both times but had to muck when Van Brugge showed {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the nut flush.

Zhong Chen Eliminated in 9th Place

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Zhong Chen raised to 18,000 in middle position, Hakim Zoufri three-bet to 49,000 on the button, Chen four-bet shoved around 90,000 and Zoufri called.

Zhong Chen: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Hakim Zoufri: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

It was the classic race, and the flip landed in Zoufri's favor on an {8-Hearts}{A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} board. Chen finished in 9th place, two places before the money. We are now on the bubble.

Chen Denies Bosman Final Table

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

With Hans Bosman's elimination in 10th place, the unofficial final table in this 8-Handed tournament has been reached. It was Zhong Chen who put the final nail in Bosman's coffin.

Chen started the hand by moving all in for 39,000 from under the gun. Bosman made the call for 29,000 one seat over.

Zhong Chen: {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Hans Bosman: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

Chen spiked a four during the {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} rundown to send Bosman to the rail.

Refos Doubles Up

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Short stacked, Raoul Refos got it in with {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} from the big blind against Zhong Chen's {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} under the gun open. The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Refos' pair held to double up.

Mykkanen Rivers Rensen

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Niko Mykkanen opened on the button, George Rensen and Kees van Brugge defended their blinds. On the {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, Mykkanen bet 15,000, Rensen called, and Van Brugge folded.

Rensen checked the {8-Clubs} on the turn. Mykkanen slid enough T-5,000 chips forward to cover Rensen, and the shipping mogul called after some deliberation.

Niko Mykkanen: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
George Rensen: {K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Rensen was in the lead with trip treys but Mykkanen had a flush draw to go with the case king. The river was the {A-Clubs} and Mykkanen completed his flush to knock out Rensen in 11th place.
