Gumz and Van Brug Having Fun

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

The table where Fabian Gumz and Rolf van Brug are seated at seem to be having loads of fun. Neculai Macovei just joined their table and Gareth Iddon is also seated at that table. Iddon claims this is his first tournament ever so he's hoping to have a good run here. Vlastimil Stastny is also at the table but seems to be a lot quieter presence.

Van Brug raised to 200 from the hijack and was called by Stastny and Gumz in the blinds.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, Stastny and Gumz both check-called the 300 bet of Van Brug.

They all checked the {J-Diamonds} on the turn.

"Diamond!" Gumz exclaimed.

The river completed the board with the {4-Diamonds}.

"Shit" Gumz said.

Stastny and Gumz both quickly checked again. Van Brug laughed and bet 700. Stastny called immediately and Gumz folded. Van Brug mucked his hand and Stastny didn't need to show his hole cards.

They asked Stastny to show the diamond but he mucked. Van Brug claimed to have seven-two offsuit. Gumz said he had an ace with the three of diamonds.

Test Makes Johanes Fold

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

The board read {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{a-Spades} and the pot already contained about 12,500 in it.

Stefan Johanes had bet 12,000 from the big blind and was met by a shove of around 20,000 by Benjamin Test in the cutoff. After taking some time to think, Johanes open-folded {Q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}.

The rest of the table asked what Test had. Test said he had the nut flush. Johanes said he had misread the board to the player on his right.

Shayler Loses to Roussia

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

About a month ago, Stephen Shayler finished in 14th place here in Rozvadov during the partypoker MILLIONS Germany Main Event for €35,000 and he was just involved in a hand.

Loic Roussia raised to 150 from the cutoff and was called by Ali Ayub (button) and Stephen Shayler (small blind).

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and they all checked through to the {5-Clubs} on the turn. Shayler now bet 350, Roussia called and Ayub folded.

The {7-Clubs} on the river completed the board. Shayler continued with a bet of 1,000. Roussia however raised to 3,500. Shayler sat up straight and looked at the board again. He ended up calling in the end. Roussia tabled {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the rivered flush. Shayler disappointedly turned around his {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to show he had flopped the nut straight and improved to a flush which couldn't beat the one of Roussia.
