Lucas Doubles Through Poetra

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Alfie Poetra open raised to 20,000, Landen Lucas three-bet to 62,000, and Poetra four-bet all in over the top. Lucas snap called, and Poetra had Lucas covered.

Landen Lucas: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Alfie Poetra: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Board: {6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

Poerta was well behind when the cards turned over, and the {k-Clubs} on the turn gave Lucas the set and sealed the double up.

Wong Wins With River Bet

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

There was a pot of around 180,000 on the river with a board reading {5-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Eric Wong had a bet of 109,000 out in front of him from under the gun. Action was on Arish Nat, who was in the cutoff.

Nat was in the tank and another 30 seconds or so passed by as Nat talked to himself about his situation. Eventually, he decided to wait for a better time and let his hand go, resulting in the pot being sent Wong's way.

Paul Richardson opened to 25,000 on the button, and Roman Shainiuk called in the big blind.

Shainiuk checked the {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, Richardson bet 30,000, and Shainiuk folded.

Rodriguez Traps Sickle With Aces; Nearing 1.5 Million

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Noel Rodriguez
Noel Rodriguez

Dan Stir opened to 26,000 from early position and was called by Noel Rodriguez, who was in the hijack. Chet Sickle went all in over the top from the cutoff and Stir thought for a while before folding. Rodriguez then called immediately, tabling his hand just as quickly.

Chet Sickle: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Noel Rodriguez: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

"Snap call," said Sickle, realizing he was in some serious trouble. He called for diamonds in a non-demanding way but his request was never fulfilled as the board came {6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts} to send him to the rail. He was the second elimination from Table 4 since the break after the short-stacked Marty Wong was also eliminated.

Rodriguez now finds himself with over 1.4 million in chips as he continues to climb.

Allen Kessler was also seen leaving the tournament area moments after the completion of the aforementioned hand. His seat was vacated and there were no chips in play, marking his departure from the tournament as well.

Shainiuk Stacks Up

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Roman Shainiuk opened to 20,000 from under the gun, and got three callers.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, and Shainiuk continuation bet for 75,000. Rickey Evans folded in the hijack, Michael Lin folded from the cutoff, and Nino Klebek thought it over for awhile before folding from the big blind, showing the {10-Spades} as he mucked.

Shainiuk showed the {k-Spades} as he mucked. It's been an up-and-down day for Shainiuk, who began Day 2 as the overall chip leader, fell to around 100,000 chips at one point, and is now back to nearly 700k.

Break Time; Le Doubles Through Condon

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

"You missed a sick hand right before break," said Eli Ross as he walked by to exit the tournament area. He quickly shared that Billy Le and Alex Condon got stacks all in preflop right before the break with Le being the one at risk.

Billy Le: {a-}{k-}
Alex Condon: {10-}{10-}

Le was able to hit an ace on the flop, vaulting him to nearly three-quarters of a million in chips. Meanwhile, Condon is at just over 150,000, leaving him with what will be around 15 big blinds when play returns.

Meanwhile, another player who has flown under the radar throughout most of the day is Jeff Dewitt. Dewitt came into the day with 214,000 in chips and has chipped up to 256,000 through four hours of play.

The remaining 36 players are now on a 15-minute break.
