Hugenberg and Hendricks Find a Chop

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Anthony Hugenberg opened to 28,000 from the hijack and was called by Kelsey Hendricks, who defended his big blind. The flop came {2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs} and both players checked.

The turn was {a-Clubs} and Hendricks checked again. Hugenberg bet 26,000 and received a call. Both players checked the river {q-Diamonds} to take the hand to showdown.

Hendricks, being first to act, tabled {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of aces. Hugenberg noticed and turned over {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, resulting in the two earning a chop as neither player had a kicker high enough to come into play.

Chai Gambles and Loses

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Travis Fujisaka
Travis Fujisaka

Travis Fujisaka went all in from the cutoff and action folded around to Paul Chai, who was in the big blind. He asked for a count, which was totaled to be 147,000.

"I double you up once, but not twice," Chai said. "I call,"

Travis Fujisaka: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Paul Chai: {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}

"Jack-high again - my favorite hand!" exclaimed Chai. The dealer brought a runout of {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, resulting in Fujisaka's king kicker to the board's trip sevens remaining best to score him a double at Chai's expense.

Rickey Evans also recently was eliminated from the tournament, finding his fortunes to be not as grand as those of Fujisaka as he became the 26th place finisher in the tournament.

Chai Puts the Bad Beat On Lin, Sends Him Home

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Michael Lin, from early position, got all of his chips in preflop against Paul Chai, in middle position. Chai had Lin covered going to the showdown.

Michael Lin: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Paul Chai: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Board: {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}

Lin had Chai crushed preflop, but the {j-Spades} on the turn gave Chai trip jacks and evoked a stunned reaction from the rest of the table. The bad beat puts Lin out in 25th place.

Reardon Ousts Murray

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Terence Reardon
Terence Reardon

Brett Murray, on the hijack, got all-in preflop against Terence Reardon on the button. Reardon had Murray well covered.

Brett Murray: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}
Terence Reardon: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Board: {8-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Murray was in bad shape against Reardon's pocket aces, and the runout clinched Murray's elimination, and put Reardon over the million-chip mark.

Reardon Nears A Milly

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

There was around 65,000 in the pot from preflop action as the dealer fanned a flop of {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Brett Murray had defended his big blind against an early-position open by Terence Reardon and he proceeded to check to Reardon, who put out a continuation-bet of 51,000. Murray called. The turn came {4-Clubs} and Murray checked again.

"All in," said Reardon, effectively putting Murray to the test for his last 116,000. Murray thought for over a minute about his decision and chose to let his hand go, resulting in the pot being sent Reardon's way.

Hugenberg Doubles Up

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Angelo Krastas and Anthony Hugenberg got all of the chips in the middle preflop in a battle of the blinds. Krastas, on the small blind, had Hugenberg covered.

Anthony Hugenberg: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Angelo Krastas: {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Board: {8-Spades}{10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{q-Spades}{k-Spades}

The turn gave Hugenberg the straight, and he's still alive as Level 20 continues.
