€2,750 High Roller
Day 1 Started
Day 1 of the €2,750 High Roller at the World Series of Poker International Circuit in Holland Casino Rotterdam is set to start at 5 p.m. local time for players to have another shot at winning a WSOP Circuit Ring and the first-place prize money that will come along with it. This will be the third time that the beautiful location organizes the WSOPC High Roller with some notable players in the mix the previous times.
In 2018, Luuk Gieles won €53,078 by taking care of Kevin Paqué heads-up in a 38-strong field. Bracelet winner, Albert Hoekendijk and Raoul Refos also finished in the money. The year before that, Abdelhakim Zoufri laid claim to the title and €69,888. Also featured on that final table and already spotted in Rotterdam were Govert Metaal, Kees van Brugge, and Firoz Mangroe. Do note that the buy-in for the High Roller in 2017 and 2018 was €3,500.
Alberto Stegeman finished in sixth place in 2017 and it has already been confirmed that Stegeman will be joining in on the High Roller fun. This will be a great way for him to warm up for all the action that will be coming in Amsterdam next week during the Master Classics of Poker when he defends his title in the Main Event.
According to the schedule, twelve levels of 40 minutes each have been planned for Day 1 with a 15-minute break after every three levels and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 6. The High Roller will be 8-max and late registration will remain open during the first two levels of Day 2 with unlimited reentries during that entire time. But as usual in High Roller events, everything is subject to change. Players will start with 50,000 chips and if they sit down at the start of Level 1, the small blind will be 100 with a 100 big blind and no big blind ante yet.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be there from the first shuffle until the final chip has been bagged for Day 2 so make sure to keep checking back to see who will be making it through.
