Day 1b of the WSOP Circuit $1,700 Main Event at Potawatomi Hotel and Casino saw 320 entrants hit the felt in search of a Day 2 bag. Just 52 players managed to secure a bag at the end of the night, with Igor Hot and his 485,000 taking the overall chip lead into Day 2 play. Hot managed to build an early stack by busting James Pupillo with aces, and rode a hot streak at the end of the night to claim the overall chip lead, ahead of Day 1a chip leader Chris Roth and his 420,000 chip stack.

John Gallaher (459,000) and Craig Trost (458,000) both managed to zoom up the counts in the middle of the day. Gallaher found himself in a kings against queens scenario, and was able to jump his stack above 200,000 just after registration closed, then rode the wave all the way to second-place on the day. Trost flopped kings-full and Nicola Ditrapani rivering fives-full to send a massive pot to Trost, one that he road to the third-place overall stack.

Others that managed to find a Day 2 ticket include former champ Michael Hudson (331,000), Phil Mader (287,000), Ryan "Jesus" Scully (246,000), Cody Brinn (140,000), Allen Kessler (114,000), Ravi Raghavan (66,000), and Mo Nuwwarah (35,000).

Nick Pupillo managed to make a deep run before falling just short of a bag. Others that were unable to make it to Day 2 include WSOP Bracelet winners John Reading and Alex Ziskin, Sam Cosby, Melissa Bryne, Hannah Guthrie, Brett Reichard, Kevin Saul, and Brian Altman.

Day 2 kicks off tomorrow at Noon local time for level 16 with 25:16 remaining, and the final 84 players will be just five spots shy of a cash. A min-cash will earn players $2,770, while the eventual winner will walk away with $151,284. Stay tuned to PokerNews as we hit the money and hit the money here at Potawatomi Hotel and Casino.

Christopher Underwood: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Phil Mader: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Mader's queens held up on a {4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs} board to send Underwood out the door two spots shy of bagging up for the evening.

The cutoff jammed for 70,000, and action folded to Sultan Ahmed in the big blind. He tanked for a minute before calling off his last 52,000.

Sultan Ahmed: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

"C'mon, hold!" Ahmed said, and he did more than that on a {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, giving him trips and a big lead. The {7-Clubs} turn and {5-Spades} river were safe for Ahmed, and he doubled up.
