Wattenberg Deals Nasty Blow to Covrig

With some 35,000 in the middle and the turn showing {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, Sergiu Covrig checked out of the big blind. [Removed:520] bet 11,700 and was called by Kai Wattenberg on the button. Covrig then squeezed to around 90,000 with the biggest stack at the table. [Removed:524] folded and Wattenberg called all-in.

Lorenzi Among Next to Fall

Within just one minute, several players were eliminated and among them was also Riccardo Lorenzi. He was unable to beat the {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} of Florin Tatu on a {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs} board and headed to the rail where he was joined by Sandro Pitzanti.

The preflop action saw Matthias de Meulder with a reraise to 4,500 in the cutoff and Gaurav Kumar then made it 11,000 to go out of the small blind. All other opponents folded and de Meulder tossed in calling chips. On the {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, Kumar continued for 7,000 and that was all it took for Kumar to win the pot.

Trifan Takes From Gavrila

In a four-bet pot to the {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop, Florin Trifan bet 5,500 out of the small blind and received a call from Viorel Gavrila on the button. Both Romanians checked the {3-Diamonds} turn and Trifan then bet the {4-Spades} river for 16,000. Gavrila snap-folded and Trifan raked in the pot. Both have already chipped up significantly since starting their journey on Day 1a with Gavrila slightly ahead.

On the river of a completed board of {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Clubs}, Vasileios Tsaknis checked from under the gun. Soufiane Jardi bet 5,000 into a pot of around 19,000 and Nicolas Bokowski then raised to 16,000 on the button. Tsaknis folded with a short stack and Jardi let go, too.

Bokowski flashed the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Tsaknis walked away from the table in disgust, indicating that he had made a big fold with a spade. Soon after, the Greek was eliminated.

Gulas Gets Value From Vehoff

Mark Vehoff checked the {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} river and Josef Gulas made it 10,000 to go. Both had previously tangled and Vehoff folded but he made the call this time. Gulas rolled over the {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} for trips queens and that won the pot.
