Karoui Loses to Daffina

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Not long ago, Sebastian Kappenberg was very frustrated after he had once paid off Claudio Daffina. Since then the tables had turned as Kappenberg emerged as the chip leader. Daffina got some chips back though, as he won back-to-back pots off Moncef Karoui.

With 32,000 in the middle to the {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} turn, Daffina and Karoui checked. Daffina jammed the repeat {10-Clubs} river and Karoui folded. One hand later, they both invested 11,000 preflop and the {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop was checked. Daffina bet for 4,000 on the {9-Clubs} turn to get called, then bet the {j-Clubs} river for 8,000 and forced a fold.

Lussi Loses it All to Moagi

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Cecil Moagi
Cecil Moagi

Marius Lussi picked the most unfortunate timing to get his stack in preflop with the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, as Cecil Moagi snap-called with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. There was no miracle on the {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} board as Lussi was drawing dead on the turn. Moagi continued his rise on Day 1b and climbed further up on the leaderboard.

Amelipour Doubles Through Kidas

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Ali Amelipour
Ali Amelipour

Joining the action on the {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} turn with around 30,000 in the middle, Ali Amelipour checked his option. Athanasios Kidas splashed in a bet worth 30,000 and Amelipour then jammed for two times of that. The quick call of Kidas followed but he was instantly given the bad news.

Ali Amelipour: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Athanasios Kidas: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Unless a joker or duplicate card were to come, Kidas had to fork over a decent portion of his stack. The {j-Hearts} river confirmed Amelipour's double for 65,100.

Derler Doesn't Call Donnini

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Danilo Donnini bet the river of a board {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades} for 11,000 and that sent Rupert Derler into a brief tank. He started grinning and mentioned "ace jack I would call." Apparently he didn't have that combination, however, and opted to fold.

Donnini first flashed the {q-Clubs} followed by the {k-Clubs} for a full house before raking in the pot.

Recent Eliminations and Re-Entries

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Day 1b has surpassed 300 entries also thanks to plenty of players on multiple bullets. Only some 212 players currently remain but that may change in a hunch.

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Natale Albanese
Natale Albanese

Four ways to the {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop the action checked through and Ahmad Achegsei then bet the {9-Spades} turn for 2,500. Natale Albanese was among the two opponents to call and Achegsei checked the {5-Spades} river. Albanese bet 9,500 and Achegsei eventually paid that off to get shown {a-Spades}{2-Spades} for the nut flush.
