Ghozlani Scores a Double

Level 14 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Down to the last 38,000, Karim Ghozlani was at risk with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Gennaro Proscia had him dominated holding the {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Lady luck came to the rescue on the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} board for Ghozlani to double.

No Call for Kaesler

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

David Kaesler was among those to enter on Day 2 and he has already successfully ran up a profit within the first four hours of play. The latest hand saw him call a bet of 30,000 by Volkan Alkan on the {5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Hearts} turn. Alkan then checked the {6-Hearts} river from under the gun and Kaesler overbet for 100,000.

That represented half of Alkan's stack and no call followed.

Jan Bronkhorst
Jan Bronkhorst

Jan Bronkhorst was among the bigger stacks for most of Day 1b but never got anything running on Day 2. He just flopped top pair with {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} on a ten-high board but the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of Gennaro Proscia prevailed to reduce the field further.

Sandro Pitzanti
Sandro Pitzanti

Down to a rather short stack and on the button, Sandro Pitzanti three-bet jammed and Aleksandar Tomovic called from under the gun.

Sandro Pitzanti: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Aleksandar Tomovic: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

On a board of {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Tomovic instantly spiked the superior pair on the flop to send the Dutchman to the rail.

Double Knockout for Talah

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

A short-stacked Angelo Bamberger and Yves Thalmann were at risk against Nasredine Talah in the big blind.

Angelo Bamberger: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Yves Thalmann: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Nasredine Talah: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and the kings held to secure a double knockout. Moments later the same was announced from a different table nearby and among those to bow out was also Antoine Vranken.

Shehadeh Wins It on the Flop

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Laviniu David raised to 9,000 and was called by Martin Paap and Luigi Shehadeh out of the big blind. Following the {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop, Shehadeh bet 9,000 and that was all it took to win the pot right there. Shehadeh remains below the starting stack but has plenty of big blinds to work with on a stacked table.

Further assorted counts from the outer field can be found below.
