The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise schedule is out, and it includes 15 gold bracelet events highlighted by the largest guaranteed poker tournament prize pool ever.
All the action takes place at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas from Dec. 3-13. The series includes a record $25,000 buy-in Super Main Event starting Dec. 9, featuring a $50 million guaranteed prize pool. That is the highlight event of the series, but it is far from the only big one. Take, for example, the $500,000 buy-in Triton Million on Dec. 7, an invitational event through Triton Poker.
The warm weather poker festival begins Dec. 6 with the $2,500 WSOP Mini Main Event, a $5 million guaranteed tournament. It concludes Dec. 18 with the $5,000 The Closer - NLH Bounty Turbo. There is one other tournament scheduled for the last day of the bracelet series — Super Saver 1M Invitational ($1 million guaranteed), open to bracelet holders who enter the Super Main Event.
Action was on the river as the board read 10♥10♣6♦3♣3♦. The pot had about 20,500 in it. Osbert Liu bet 15,500.
His opponent went deep into the tank as he thought it out. Eventually he said "If you got lucky, you got lucky" and folded.
"When would he have gotten lucky" asked a tablemate. "He hit a ten on the flop" replied his opponent. "It was a limp pot, how could I get lucky?" said Liu with a laugh while he gathered in his chips.
