Lihacovs Lets Novikovs Fold a Chop

Level 5 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

In a 12,500 pot, Romans Lihacovs bet 2,000 from the small blind on the 2♣3♥4♥ flop. Genadijs Novikovs called, and did so again when Lihacovs sized up to 6,000 on the 6♦ turn.

The 5♥ river brought a straight on the board. Lihacovs quickly announced an all-in bet, to which Novikovs folded after some thought. Lihacovs windmilled A♣Q♦ across the table as he raked in the chips and crossed two starting stacks.

Level 5 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Herli Olop
Herli Olop

Heads up to the 9♦7♥A♠ flop, Martynas Saltis checked from the big blind to Herli Olop in the hijack. Olop bet 1,800 into the single-raised pot, which Saltis raised to 4,500. Olop called, after which the duo both checked the 9♣ turn.

The 2♠ river saw Saltis re-engage with a bet of 8,500. Olop quickly called for Saltis to reveal A♣7♠ for a counterfeit two pair. Olop's A♥8♦ won him the pot with his eight kicker, seeing him cross the six-figure mark.

Meanwhile, at another table, chipleader Tomas Kovalenka had increased his stack to nearly five starting stacks.

Docherty Departs

Level 5 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

David Docherty was down to just 10,400, which he pushed in from early position. It folded to Valentin Girard in the big blind, who called.

David Docherty: A♣5♣ All in
Valentin Girard: A♥J♥

Girard made a pair of jacks on the 7♣4♥8♥J♦ turn, leaving Docherty drawing slim. The 2♠ river did not bring any help for Docherty, prompting him to say his goodbyes to the table.

Small Bet Does Not Work Out for Novikovs

Level 5 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

A sizable pot of 30,000 was between Genadijs Novikovs under the gun and Steffen Gjelseth in middle position, along with a completed board of 6♥5♥3♣A♠9♦.

Novikovs opted to bet 4,000, only to be raised to 16,000 by Gjelseth. Novikovs relinquished his cards after some thought, surrendering the pot to his opponent.

Kabiri Goes Big on River

Level 4 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Yevhen Roshchebak raised to 1,300 under the gun. Ali Kabiri called in middle position, prompting Feras Abid to squeeze in a three-bet to 4,500 on the button. Roshchebak folded before Kabiri called.

Abid continued for 4,000 on the 5♥10♥J♠ flop. Kabiri check-called to the J♣ turn, which both players checked. Kabiri then tossed in 13,000 on the 3♣ river.

Abid snap-called his opponent, but he could not beat his A♣J♦ and mucked his cards.

Saltis Spikes River to Double

Level 4 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Martynas Saltis got his stack of 49,000 in on the button, being up against Jose Larios in the big blind.

Martynas Saltis: Q♠Q♥ All in
Jose Larios: K♠K♣

It was looking dire for Saltis' queens, especially after the 5♥2♥6♦4♠ runout brought no help. The Q♦ river made him a set, however, doubling up to nearly two starting stacks while leaving Larios with around 30 big blinds.
