Color Up and 15-Minute Break

The tournament clock has been paused while the tournament staff assists the players with a color up of the 500 denomination chips. Once the color up is complete, the players will begin their 15-minute break.

Ferguson Eliminates Banducci; Increases Chip Lead

Michael Banducci - 6th Place Finisher
Michael Banducci - 6th Place Finisher
In what turned out to be the biggest hand of the tournament thus far, Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson has just eliminated Michael Banducci from the main event, further increasing his chip lead over the rest of the pack.

Action folded around to Ferguson in the cutoff and he opened for a 17,000 raise. Banducci made the call from the button and the two were heads-up going into the flop.

The first three cards off the deck came {6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Ferguson checked to Banducci, who took a stab at the pot with a 24,000 bet; Ferguson made the call.

The turn brought the {J-Diamonds} and this time it was Ferguson who started the betting, firing a 55,000 bullet into the middle. Banducci then opted to move all in over the top of Chris' bet, prompting the man they call 'Jesus' to plop into the tank.

Chris leaned back in his chair, staring intently at the board while considering his decision. He then cut the additional 83,500 chips it would cost him to call from his mammoth-sized stack and sat up in his chair, elbows propped up on the table. With a subtle shrug of his shoulders, Chris slid the chips into the middle and tabled the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}; Banducci showed the {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for top pair.

Chris would need to hit an ace, a queen or a diamond on the river to take down the pot, and when the {A-Clubs} fell on the river, that was all she wrote for Banducci.

The win further increased Ferguson's chip stack over the field and he now has somewhere in the ballpark of 650,000 in chips. Banducci would take home $33,223 in prize money for his 6th place finish.

Hometown Hero

25-year-old Lake Tahoe native Dustin Fox is off to a fast start this afternoon, already having doubled up in the first hour of play.

Fox is an investment banker by trade, though he has found modest success on the felt, having won multiple tournaments ranging in buy-in from $100 - $1,000.

Clearly the local fan favorite, Fox is hoping to cash in on what would be his biggest tournament victory to date.

A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action

The six players remaining at the final table have been noticeably quiet over the last few minutes, keeping the table talk to a minimum.

While their lips haven't moved much, their chips are certainly getting some exercise as the frequency of pre-flop raises has increased two-fold since the start of play, due to the short-handed nature of the table.

Dustin Fox Wins Three-way Pot

Dustin Fox just took down a nice-sized three-way pot in a hand that saw Mark Bonsack open for a 17,000 pre-flop raise. Chris Ferguson made the call from the cutoff position and Fox called from the big blind.

The flop came down {4-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Fox checked to Bonsack, who made a continuation bet of 35,000. Ferguson got out of the way and when the action got around to Fox, he moved all in over the top of Bonsack's bet for a total of 120,000. Bonsack tanked for quite some time before ultimately laying down his hand.

Fox stacked up just under 200,000 in chips after the hand.

'Vesty' Wins Coinflip; Eliminates Saca

George Saca
George Saca
We're averaging about one elimination for every ten minutes of play at the moment, a frantic pace for any main event final table.

The third player eliminated from the tournament today was George Saca, whose pocket jacks couldn't hold off the A-K of Sylvester 'Vesty' Geoghegan in a classic pre-flop coinflip situation. Vesty spiked a king on the flop, which was all he'd need to win the hand and eliminate Saca from the tournament.

Saca's seventh-place finish is quite impressive when you take into consideration the fact that he entered Day 2 as the field's third smallest chip stack. Saca earned $26,443 for his efforts - not bad for three days work.
