Dinner Break

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

The 49 remaining players are all going on a sixty minute dinner break. It will be a nervous hour for those nursing a short stack, with just five places separating them from the money!

Three-Bet All-in from van Morckhoven

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Preflop Roland van Morckhoven raised to 16,000 and got two callers. He continuation bet the {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop for 23,000 and Koen Lauwereys raised to 65,000. The other player got out the way and Morckhoven moved all-in for his remaining 197,000. Lauwereys made the call

van Morckhoven: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Lauwereys: {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The full board was dealt {q-Spades}{4-Clubs} giving Roland van Morckhoven the full double up to around double average stack

Khalifa Counterfeited

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Jonathan Khalifa bet 15,000 on {5-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and got raised by his opponent Pedro Miguel Fernandes. Khalifa called and saw the {5-Clubs} dealt on the river. Khalifa then bet 35,000 and was quickly called

Khalifa: {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Fernandes: {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The river had counterfeited Khalifa who had to contend with shipping the pot to Fernandes

Barny Boatman busts short of the money
Barny Boatman busts short of the money

We've lost Barny Boatman with just under twenty minutes to go on the level before the dinner break. We've been informed by tournament staff that even if we are close to the money, we won't change the schedule and players will take the dinner break as scheduled.

New Chip Leader; Bustouts Slow

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We knew it was going to come to this. The bustouts have crawled to a stop with the tournament clock seemingly stuck on 50 players remaining. A reminder that 44 players will cash, with a min-cash worth 25,000 MAD

It also looks like we have a new chipleader in the house. Choukri Chergui, who we saw get in a muddle after rivering a house, has vaulted up the chip counts and is now sat on well over 800,000, with the average 266,400.

Six Spots Off the Money

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

With just over half an hour remaining until the dinner break, it's unclear whether or not we will reach the bubble before or after. Meanwhile Achille Voltolina has doubled through Rodrigo Requiao.

On a {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{7-Clubs} board, the Lithuanian got Requiao to put his money in when beat, as Voltolina showed {5-Spades}{8-Spades}. Requiao turned over {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} and the {9-Hearts} on the river didn't change anything

Souaid Wins Some Off Vizcaino

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

When we got to table seven, we saw David Vizcaino calling a bet of 10,000 rom Karim Souaid on a flop of {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}. The turn [6] was checked, and both players saw a river of the {3-Spades}. Souaid bet out 15,000 and was quickly called by Vizcaino, who saw the bad news as his opponent tabled {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

Requiao Takes From Benaissa

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Rodrigo Requiao was counting out the chips when we got to the table, with the board reading {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Sofian Benaissa staring him down. Requiao called and reluctantly Benaissa tabled {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Requiao tabled {4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} to scoop the pot. Both players have well over double average as we approach the money bubble
