It Pays To Plan Ahead

If you're thinking of playing in a World Series event at some point over the next seven weeks, you would do well to register as early as possible. Outside the Amazon Room the line to register for tomorrow's events is four-wide funneling into the Registration Room, and it winds around the corner and down, down, down the hallway.

A bit earlier there was a brouhaha as some people were shifted around and those who had been waiting in line for a long time felt that the interlopers were jumping their place in line. But calm, at least relatively speaking, has been restored. There's still a lot of people out there who want to pony up and play tomorrow, and if you're going to be in that position in the very near future, register as soon as possible. And remember, patience is a virtue.

Madsen calls. The turn is {10-Spades} and Arieh bets 400 and Madsen calls. The river is {6-Clubs}. Arieh checks. Madsen bets 400 and Arieh calls. Arieh has {8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Madsen has {8-Spades}{9-Clubs} for the split.

Anna Wroblewski Surrenders on the River

We're playing Limit again and on the button Anna Wroblewski called a 200 raise from one off the cutoff. The big blind joined in and the three saw a flop of {4-Spades} {8-Spades} {7-Clubs}. Anna check-called the original raiser's bet and the big blind folded, and after the {8-Clubs} on the turn Anna bet 400 and was called. When the {K-Clubs} fell on the river Wroblewski bet 400, but when the other player raised to 800 she gave up and released her hand.
