Minh Ly Wins Two Consecutive Hands to Bust a Player

On a flop of {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} Minh Ly flopped Broadway with {A-Spades}{10-Spades} while his opponent flopped top two pair with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. All the money went in the middle and Ly's hand held up.

The very next hand it was Ly who held K-Q--in clubs this time--and hit a flush on the river. He moved all-in and the other player, who'd flopped a set of Threes, thought it over for a good long time before calling. Those two hands pushed Ly's stack up to 25,000.

Allen Cunningham Won't Go Back-to-Back

With his stack short, Allen Cunningham moved in with A-6 and was called by a player in the big blind who woke up with pocket Queens. The board came K-10-6-3...6, to give Cunningham the pot and 900 chips.

The dealer said, "When you win the tournament three days from now, remember that hand."

But a second bracelet wasn't meant to be for Cunningham, at least not in today's event. He moved in again with Q-8 and was called by A-3, and this time the board brought no help. Cunningham will have to console himself with the bracelet he won last night.

Lee Watkinson Wins a Monster Pot

After a middle-position player raised to 600, Lee Watkinson and the big blind called and they saw a flop of {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. The player first to act bet 600, and Watkinson, holding {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, called a 1,000 bet with his straight flush draw.

After the big blind folded the {J-Clubs} turned and this time Watkinson called a 2,000 bet. The {A-Hearts} hit on the river and after another 2,000 bet Watkinson raised to 6K. The other player moved in and Watkinson took some time to think things through before making the call. His opponent had flopped a set of Kings but the heart on the river gave Watkinson the flush and the pot. He's now sitting with a 41,000 stack.

J.J. Liu Takes Two Hands In a Row

J.J.Liu
J.J.Liu
J.J. Liu raised to 525 and a player in middle position popped it to 1525. The big blind moved in for 10K more and the other two players called. Liu held AK, the middle position raiser held A-Q and the big blind held Pocket Jacks. It looked as if the Jacks would hold up...until Liu spiked a King on the river to give her the 5,000 pot.

The next hand she raised to 600 under the gun and Jeff Madsen moved all in for 1,600 total. Another player called, as did Liu, and the saw a flop of {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Liu pushed, the other player folded and this time it was Liu who held pocket Jacks. Madsen had A-Q, didn't catch on the turn or river, and was eliminated. Liu now has 8,300.
