The Chip Tapping Incident

On the flop, the action checks to a player in seat 2, who taps a 500 chip against the felt and then throws it into the pot. Victor Ramdin, who's next to act, folds, and then Ellix Powers, who acts after that, protests that seat 2 had checked his hand. The dealer says that he ruled it a raise, and Powers calls the floor in protest. Powers argues with the floorman, who eventually rules seat 2's action a raise, telling that player to be careful with his chips. Powers folds and leaves the table, but the player in seat 8, next to act, continues to argue for several minutes to no avail.

Bad Turn for Liebert

Kathy Liebert
Kathy Liebert
After calling a preflop bet from the cut-off, Kathy Liebert found herself in an interesting position.

She was the big blind and the only other players to see the flop were the button and the cut-off. The flop of {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} looked good for Kathy, who immediately bet out. Both players called her bet and the turn brought the {A-Diamonds}. Kathy checked the turn, but the cut-off player bet and both the button and Kathy made the call. The {3-Clubs} fell on the river and all players checked.

The cut-off showed {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and the other two players mucked, leaving Kathy down to 2,700 in chips.

"Gotcha!"

After butting heads with his neighboring player earlier this afternoon, Ellix Powers had the final say when they met heads up.

All the action was to Ellix in the small blind, preflop, after the only player who called the big blind was the button. Ellix bet and both the big blind as well as the button called.

Flop: {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

Ellix led out on the flop, which was enough to push out the big blind, but the button called. The {10-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn and Ellix quickly checked, as did his opponent. The {9-Clubs} fell on the river and Ellix bet and the button player called.

"Gotcha!" Ellix exclaimed as he turned over pocket aces. "Was just a matter of time," he said as his opponent mucked and he scooped in the chips.

Another Boeken Boat

Board:
{Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

A player in the cutoff raises and Phil Laak calls in the small blind. Noah Boeken also calls in the big blind. On the flop, all three check. On the turn, Laak checks and Boeken bets. The cutoff raises and Laak folds. Boeken calls. On the river, Boeken bets and the opponent raises. "You flop top set?" Boeken says, calling. He shows {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for the full house and the opponent has {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the flush. Boeken is up to 3,300.

On the flop, Richard Tatalovich raises in the big blind and JC Tran re-raises. Tatalovich goes all in for 225 and Tran calls. Tatalovich has {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Tran has {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Tran wins the pot and busts Tatalovich, climbing back nearly even: 3,750.
