Negreanu Sags His Head

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu raised to 800 from early position. Two players behind him in middle position called. Three players took a flop of {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Negreanu was first to act and checked. The next player bet 1,600 and was called by the other middle position player and also by Negreanu.

On the turn, the {J-Clubs}, Negreanu decided to lead out for 2,600 and only the player that bet the flop called.

Play was heads up going to the river and the {K-Diamonds} fell. Negreanu led out again for 3,500 this time and his opponent instantly moved all in. After some thought, Negreanu mucked his hand as he looked down at his dwindling stack of 8,300 chips.

Galfond "Off"-Line

Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond saw a flop of {K-Spades}{2-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} with Barny Boatman. On the turn of the {Q-Spades}, Galfond bet 2,300 after Boatman checked. Boatman then reraised to 5,300 and Galfond called.

The river brought the {7-Spades} and Boatman led out for 3,000. Galfond folded and is now down to 8,200 chips while Boatman increases to 36,000.

Freerollin'

David "The Dragon" Pham
David "The Dragon" Pham
After a flop of {J-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} Ram Vaswani checked from the small blind and David "The Dragon" Pham bet 800. Vaswani then check-raised to 2,800, Pham reraised to 7,800, and Vaswani moved all-in. Once all the chips were in the middle Vaswani turned over {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the flopped straight and Pham turned over the...{7-Spades}{8-Spades} for the same straight and a straight-flush draw.

When the {4-Diamonds} hit on the turn Pham was freerolling for the entire pot, but the river brought the {4-Clubs} and after the chop they were both back where they started, with both holding around 16,000.

Theo Tran Takes A Hit

With the board reading {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and 10,000 in the pot, Theo Tran checked and his opponent bet 10,000. Tran made the call, only to see he was up against the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} and a full house. That hand dropped Tran down to 15,000.

Tilly Bounced

Jennifer Tilly found herself all in preflop with Hasan Habib. Tilly held A-Q and was behind Habib's pocket jacks.

The dealer quickly ran the board {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{A-Spades} and Habib made a jack-high straight to eliminate Tilly. Habib added a good amount to his stack on this hand.

Tilly exited saying, "So much for my first time playing pot-limit. They say to bet when you have something."

Nordberg Off to a Healthy Start

Jamie Gold raised to 600 from UTG and was called by both Peter "Nordberg" Feldman in early position as well as the small blind. The flop was {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and all three players checked. The turn was the {K-Clubs}. The small blind checked, Gold checked, Feldman bet 1,600, the small blind called and after nearly a three-minute think, Gold folded. The river was the {K-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The small blind turned up {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a pair of tens, but Feldman had him outkicked with {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and dragged the pot. Feldman is now up to 36,400.

Kristy Gazes Survives

From the cutoff the short-stacked Kristy Gazes raised to 900 and the button reraised to 2,500, enough to set Kristy all-in. She made the call and showed {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}, while her opponent tabled {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. The board ran out Q-Q-K-5-9 and Gazes staved off elimination and doubled through to 5,600.
