It just wasn't Shannon Elizabeth's day. After losing with A-A to Beth Shak's pocket sixes earlier in the tournament, Elizabeth went down with A-A once again. This time it would be for all her chips.
The board was ten-high, 4-5-T-7, when all the money went into the middle. Elizabeth showed A-A and her opponent showed T-T for top set.
The river brought another ten to add insult to injury and bounce Elizabeth from the tournament.
There are scores of people with cameras buzzing around the tables and no doubt they're taking extra time with the one that Clonie Gowen, Humberto Brenes, J.C. Tran and David Benyamine are playing at. And seated together at table #20 are Kristy Gazes, Rolf Slotbloom and Gavin Griffin.

Shak commented, "I thought you had aces" as she stacked her chips up.

James Mackey flopped trips with his 6-8 on a flop of 6-6-X. Unfortunately, his opponent had him outkicked with K-6 and "mig.com" headed to the rail after only 20 minutes of play.
Antonio Esfandiari began his day slow here at the first event of the World Series of Poker. On a board showing , Esfandiari was faced with a decision to call a bet of 10,000. The pot was approximately 12,000, and after some thought he decided to lay his hand down.

And sitting in seat number eight is the formidable visage of Alex Kravchenko, who reached the final table of the Main Event last year after capturing a bracelet earlier in the Series.
