Phil Laak still has yet to fill out the required media form that ESPN has had every player fill out. Laak did not want to jinx himself and claims, "I never make the final table, so I just won't fill that out and then maybe I'll make it." He's told two or three people from ESPN's media crew that he won't fill it out just yet.
After Michael Pesek opened for 25,000 Alexander Kostritsyn reraised to 90,000. Pesek then moved all in for his last 232,000 and Kostritsyn laid his hand down. Picking up that pot lifted Pesek's stack to 290,000 while Kostritsyn, down to around 215,000, surrendered nearly a third of his chips.
In a battle of the blinds the two players exchanged raises until Kostritsyn was all in. He turned over to Benefield's . The board ran out and when the hand was done Kostritsyn had doubled up to 300,000, while Benefield's stack slipped to approximately the same amount.
This time at least. Before the flop Phil Laak raised to 30,000 from the cutoff and Liebert called in the big blind. Liebert led out for 25,000 after the flop and Laak called. They checked it down after the on the turn and the on the river, and Laak showed K-8 to best Liebert's pocket sixes. Laak now has 470,000 and Liebert 160,000.
With 110,000 already in the pot Mike Sowers and Eli Elezra saw a flop of . Sowers bet 110,000 and Elezra raised to 300,000, enough to set Sowers all in. He instantly called and showed for the flopped Broadway straight, while Elezra held top pair with . After the fell on the turn, Elezra also had the nut flush draw to go with a possible chop if a king spiked, but the river was the and Sowers won a massive pot. He now has a 700,000 stack, while Elezra fell to around 300,000.
Rolf Slotboom raised to 25,000 in early position and was put all in when Chris Bell reraised to 75,000. Slotboom, who has been nursing a rather small stack all day, made the all-in call.

The board ran out and Slotboom failed to improve. He was eliminated in 20th place and earned $26,470.
After David Benefield raised to 26,000 Alexander Kostritsyn made the call from the small blind. The flop came and both players checked, and when the turned Kostritsyn bet 45,000 and was called.
The river was the and Kostritsyn bet 77,000. Benefield made the call and Kostritsyn immediately mucked his cards, conceding the pot to Benefield in a hand that left him with just 100,000. Benefield's stack has now grown to 540,000.
