Perfect Patrik

Under the gun, a player raised to 1,050 and Patrik Antonius in the small blind reraised to 4,100. The big blind went all in and the UTG folded. Antonius called with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} to the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} of the big blind. The board came {6-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and Antonius busted his opponent, moving up to 37,000.

Matusow Eliminated

This hurts to type.

Down to his last 1,125, Mike Matusow was dealt the very playable {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and pushed all in. Chad Brown called, then another player reraised, pushing Brown out of the hand. Matusow was in good shape, as the reraiser showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

The flop came {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, giving both players top pair. The turn was the {A-Spades}, and now Matusow had top two.

But the river was the {10-Spades}, giving Matusow's opponent Broadway and sending the Mouth home.

Deliver Us from Evelyn

Just before the last break, Evelyn Ng got in a great hand. Preflop, she limped in and the big blind checked. On a flop of {J-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, both checked. On a turn of {7-Hearts}, Ng bet 850 and her opponent reraised to 2,500. She called. On a river of {6-Hearts}, she checked and her opponent went all in for 6,200. She called with {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and her opponent was busted. She's up to 42,000 on a four-handed table.

We're Back

Cards are back in the air. We're at Level 3, with blinds 200/400 and antes of 50.

Remember, while we are listing players in the "Chip Counts" we aren't updating the counts over there other than to change players to zero when they are eliminated. When tables get down to two or three players, we'll try to give you some chip counts here in the blog.

No Bloch Party

Andy Bloch and his opponent were all in preflop. Bloch had Q-9 and the opponent had A-Q. The board ran out 8-5-8-4-Q and Bloch was sent home -- or to the cash games.

Typical

Another hand from near the end of Level 2: On a flop of {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Mike Matusow checked and Max Pescatori bet 3,000. Matusow thought for a while, then reraised all in. Pescatori made the call.

Pescatori showed {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for an open-ended straight draw. Matusow showed {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for middle pair.

The turn was the {4-Clubs}, and Matusow was drawing dead. He's down to about 1,125 in chips, while Pescatori is up to 27,000.

Yang Eliminated

Jerry Yang
Jerry Yang
Right near the end of Level 2, Jerry Yang limped from under the gun, a middle-position player limped, and another player raised to 2,625. Yang called the bet, leaving himself about 2,600 behind. The MP player also called, and the three of them saw the flop come out {Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}.

Yang went all in, and when the MP player folded, Yang turned over his hand -- {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} -- mistakenly thinking the third player was already all in as well. In fact, he still had over 5,000 behind. After seeing Yang's hand and doing a bit of math, he went ahead and made the call, showing {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

The turn was the {4-Hearts} and Yang was still alive. But the river brought the {K-Diamonds}, and Yang hit the rail.
