Counterfeiting at Table #5

Juanda Moving On Up
Juanda Moving On Up
A hand from right before the break over at Table #5:

John Juanda raised to 9,000 from the small blind, and Eric Froehlich called from the big blind. The flop came {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Juanda led out for 15,500, Froehlich reraised to 40,000, Juanda pushed all in for 104,000 total, and Froehlich made the call.

Juanda showed {A-Spades}{K-Spades} for top pair, top kicker. But Froehlich was ahead with {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, two pair. The turn was the {2-Clubs}, and Juanda was in trouble.

The river card, the {8-Hearts}, paired the board, though, counterfeiting Froehlich's hand and pushing Juanda up to 225,000.
