Straight Flush

Omaha -

Lennart Holtkamp raised preflop and Kyle Kloeckner called out of the big blind. The flop came {A-Hearts} {8-Spades} {6-Spades} and Kloeckner led for 75,000. Holtkamp quickly raised the pot and Kloeckner moved all in.

Kloeckner: {10-Spades} {10-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {7-Spades}
Holtkamp: {A-?} {K-?} {10-?} {5-?}

The huge wrap draw for Kloeckner proved worth all of his chips when the {9-Spades} hit the turn, landing him a straight flush. The river blanked off and didn't matter. Holtkamp had mucked his hand before the river anyway because he knew he was dead after the turn.

Kloeckner doubled to about 400,000.

Pro Battle

Omaha -

We pick up the action on the flop, with three players involved in the pot. The board reads {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} {8-Hearts}. Lennart Holtkamp checks first to act, and Allen Cunningham puts in a bet of 50,000. Next is Max Pescatori, and he thinks for a few minutes before calling. Holtkamp gets out of the way.

The turn is the {K-Hearts}. Cunningham checks, and Pescatori re-checks his cards. He seems satisfied, and makes a bet of 75,000. This time it's Cunningham who needs a second look, and he doesn't seem so pleased. He drops his cards into the muck, and ships some chips over to his fellow Full Tilt pro.

High Stakes Much?

We were just informed that Lennart Holtkamp is just 21 years old. This is his first World Series. Even though he doesn't have any big tournament cashes live, he doesn't back down when big money is involved. Holtkamp regularly plays $25-$50 pot-limit Omaha online at PokerStars and has done very well for himself.

He has recently become our chip leader and seems to excel during the Omaha section of each level.

Depa Saves Chips on the End

Hold'em -

Max Pescatori and Jonathan Depa saw a flop blind versus blind. The flop came {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} and Pescatori checked. Depa bet out and Pescatori called.

The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Max checked again. Depa made it 60,000 to go this time and Pescatori wasted little time in calling.

The river was the {J-Spades} and Pescatori checked. Depa thought for a minute before checking behind. Pescatori rolled over {K-?} {Q-?} for the straight. Depa showed {Q-?} {10-?} for two pair.

Kloeckner Not Slowing Down

Omaha -

Kyle Kloeckner is bleeding chips. He has been probably the most active player at the table. It has worked for him at times, but every now and then he has gotten his hand caught in the cookie jar.

In the latest pot, he opened from early position with a raise to 36,000. The betting passed around to Max Pescatori, and he made the call from the blind.

The flop brought {A-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {3-Hearts}. Pescatori checked, and Kloeckner continued out for 50,000. Max paused for a minute, and then put in a minimum raise to 100,000. Kyle slammed a stack of chips together, and slapped his cards into the muck. As he continues to falter a little, his count has dropped to just 200,000, and he is now the table short stack.

A Monster Laydown

Omaha -

From the button, Greg Hurst opens with a small raise to 28,000. The small blind folds, and Allen Cunningham makes the call.

The flop comes out {A-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {10-Spades}. Cunningham checks, and Hurst puts out a bet of 50,000. Cunningham chuckles, turns over two of his cards, {2-?} {7-?}, and slides them to the muck. Hurst smiles wryly and turns over two of his own, {A-?} {A-?}.

The Ole Suck-Resuck

Hegeman Has Some Room to Play
Hegeman Has Some Room to Play
Omaha -

From under the gun, Kyle Hegeman raises it up to 42,000. Action folds around to Max Pescatori in the small blind, who puts in the call.

The flop comes {6-Clubs} {7-Spades} {K-Clubs}. Pescatori bets out 65,000, and Hegeman moves all in for his last 12,000 on top, which the Italian Pirate quickly calls. The hands are turned over:

Pescatori: {A-Spades} {K-Hearts} {J-Spades} {5-Hearts}
Hegeman: {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}

Hegeman is ahead with two pair, but his lead disappears when the turn brings the {A-Clubs}, giving Pescatori a bigger two pair. Hegeman stands up and knocks the table, looking toward the rail.

Salvation finds him on the river though. The {7-Hearts} makes him a full house, and draws a reaction from the players and specators. After hitting that river, Hegeman has doubled up to a somewhat-comfortable 242,000. Pescatori has dropped down a bit to around 280,000.

What Was the Other One??

Kyle Kloeckner has been a little bit more active than the rest of the table of late. He has put in a couple of raises to 40,000 in the past minutes, winning the blinds each time.

This time, he's at it again, pushing in a 40,000-chip raise from early position. Action folds two seats over to Lennart Holtkamp, and he sweats out his cards. After a long glance, he announces, "All in." Kloeckner quickly folds, and Holtkamp flips over one card, the {4-Clubs}, and slides them to the dealer.
