STILL Hanging In There!

Mickey Appleman has survived yet another preflop all in, this time shoving his last 600 in from the big blind with {A-Spades} {7-Hearts}, called by the button who had just limped in with {9-Clubs} {8-Clubs} . A {2-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} board later, and Appleman lives to see another, er, preflop all in quite soon, probably.

Grrrr

Tony Cousineau has by all accounts been a non-stop aggression machine all day. His latest bit of unmanaged anger (in the poker sense only) was raising the small blind's 600 bet to 1,650 with pocket sixes on a J-5-3 flop. The small blind was delighted and immediately went all in for 2,000 with his pocket kings, which Cousineau had to call. Cousineau now down to 2,400.

Katja's Last Meow

Katja Thater ran into some poor luck and is now heading for the door.

Crippled when her pocket Kings were outdrawn by an opponent holding pocket Sevens - all in preflop, and a Seven on the flop - she busted out a couple hands later, shoving under the gun with 6-7 and getting one caller. Her opponent turned over Kings, and she hit a close-but-no-cigar Q-Q-6 flop but it wasn't enough to keep her in.

The Poker Vacuum

As the last table from the far corner of the room breaks, the remaining 34 tables have now been compacted into one quadrant of the room. Scouring the area, there are still plenty of big names battling away, the likes of Dewey Tomko, Jeff Lisandro and my personal fave (I'm normally less biased, honest!) Jennifer Tilly looking to take home one of those shiny gold bracelets.

Tricky Mickey

Mickey Appleman is amazingly still in - short-stacked to below the 1,000 mark for the last couple of levels, he just keeps hanging on in there. Most recently he moved all in for his last 550 with {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} and found a caller holding {8-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} - Appleman went ahead and flopped a full house anyway, leaving his opponent drawing dead on the flop of the {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades} board.
