Misread from Pescatori

pieces of eight
pieces of eight
Max Pescatori led out on the turn of a {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{J-Spades} board and Terry Boyd made the call. When the river came the {2-Clubs}, Pescatori's check was quickly followed by a bet of 12,000.

"I think you have K-Q," claimed Pescatori as he made the call.

However, his judgment was wayward on this occasion, Boyd showing {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for top pair. Pescatori, meanwhile, folded in disgust and is now short-stacked with just 29,500.

Jess Yawitz Eliminated

Heads continue to roll as we lose yet another player from today's event. This time the unfortunate victim was Jess Yawitz, whose coin was buttered the wrong side when pitted against the in-form Bruno Fitoussi.

Fitoussi = {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Jess Yawitz = {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

Board = {J-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}

"That's twice you beat ace king," observed one player.

Fitoussi now on 270,000.

Tamayo Eliminated

No sooner than Jonathan Tamayo had eliminated Michael Glasser, then he himself busted out.

All in preflop with pocket aces against John O'Shea's pocket jacks, a cruel third jack on the river put him out of contention.

Glasser Eliminated

Michael Glasser is OUT.

Blind on blind, Jonathan Tamayo raised from the small, and Glasser called from the big to see a {3-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} flop. Tamayo led out, and Glasser shoved. Call.

Glasser: {6-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}
Tamayo: {A-Hearts} {3-Clubs}

Turn: {5-Spades}

River: {8-Spades}

Glasser failed to hit, and has now hit the rail. Tamayo on 79,000.

[Removed:532] Gone

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

[Removed:532] is OUT, his 10 10 failing to hold up against Keven Stammen's A K which hit on the river of the 3 4 5 6 A board, for maximum drama.

Stammen up to 150,000.

Hiatt Doubles Up

Justin Filtz has taken a bit of a hit to his enormous stack, doubling up Sam Hiatt. Hiatt was all in preflop for 58,000 with {10-Hearts} {10-Spades} -- Filtz was holding {9-?} {9-?} and failed to hit on the {3-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {8-Spades} {4-Diamonds} board.

Hiatt now up to 125,000, Filtz down to a still commanding 230,000.
