Django Young just doubled through Kyle Kloeckner. Young held . The flop came Q-6-4, giving Young a set. Sixes on both the turn and river weren't needed, but Young didn't mind 'em. Quads--with an ace kicker to boot--tend to make one feel pretty good about a hand.
Young is up to 105,000. Kloeckner, meanwhile, is still near the chip lead with 395,000.
Michael Guzzardi's day didn't start too well as his stack went from 35,000 down to less than 15,000. He's managed to double back up to 30,000 just now though.
We've just seen a button versus big blind confrontation between Jerrod Ankenman and Varahram Vardjavand with the latter doubling up through the former.
The board was .
Vardjavand's wheel straight, holding , was good for the pot and he's up to 108,000.
With a board showing , Jared Bleznick bet from late position, and Ravi Shankar then reraised the pot to 18,000 from the small blind, leaving himself just 5,500 behind. Kyle Kloeckner folded, Bleznick reraised, and Shankar called with his remaining chips.
Shankar showed for two pair. Bleznick showed for a pair of kings and a Broadway wrap draw.
The on the end meant Shankar survived with 60,000. Bleznick has now slipped to 31,000.
Tracy Scala has just come out the wrong side of a pot with Ted Forrest to be eliminated. Francisco Azares was also in the hand but bailed at the turn stage.
The final board looked like x.
Ted Forrest's was good for the pot and we reduce the field by one more.
