Humberto Rivered

A player moved all in for his last 850 chips and Humberto Brenes made the call. Brenes held {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for the best hand against his opponent's {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}.

However the board landed {6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} to leave Brenes with about 2,800 chips.

Slim Triples

Amarillo Slim Preston has tripled up holding {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} against two opponents with {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} and {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} when the board ran out {Q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Slim is now up to 5,500.

Mike Caro Eliminated

Did you see that? 5-6?
Did you see that? 5-6?
On a flop of {8-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}, a player in the small blind moved all in for 500 and a player in the big blind called. Mike Caro then moved over the top all in for 1,500. He said, "Even if you have {5-?} {6-?} , I still have outs." His opponent made the call. Caro showed {4-Spades} {4-Hearts}, the small blind showed {J-Spades} {7-Diamonds}, and the big blind showed {6-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} . The turn of the {2-Diamonds} and the river of the {Q-Hearts} failed to pair the board, and Mike Caro is out.

Rodman Stumbles

With all the money in preflop, Blair Rodman was in good shape with his {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} against his opponent's {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. However, the board ran out {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and his opponent spiked a pair to leave Rodman with only 1,050 chips.

Who is the Oldest Player?

Just before play resumed, the floor staff did a count of who the oldest player in the field was. They had everyone stand and had people sit as they asked if players were under a certain age. By the time we reached 90, we only had one man standing. Harold Waite is the oldest player in today's field. He is 91 years young.

To give you some perspective, Mr. Waite was born in 1917. In 1917:

The United States declared war on Germany.
President Woodrow Wilson began his second term in office.
The United States took possession of the Virgin Islands after paying $25 million to Denmark.
The first Pulitzer Prizes are awarded for editorial writing, reporting, history of the United States, and biography or autobiography.
The Chicago White Sox beat the NY Giants in the World Series (4-2)
