McEvoy Busts Maresca

Tom McEvoy raised it up from late position to 2,500 and Jack Maresca made the call from the small blind.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Maresca quickly moved all with with McEvoy making the call. Maresca revealed {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} but McEvoy had spiked a pair on the flop with his {J-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a pair of sixes.

The turn was the {2-Spades} and the river {4-Clubs} to eliminate Maresca as McEvoy is now up to 80,000.

Deal The Next Hand.....Noooooo!

With over 20 tables to watch during hand-for-hand play it can prove to be a little confusing for the tournament director to keep track of which hands have been finished.

Twice already during hand-for-hand play the tournament director has announced for the dealers to commence the next hand, only to receive a loud roar of "Nooooooo!!!!" from a table in the corner of the room still trying to complete a hand.

Extended Hand-For-Hand Play

After a rush of early eliminations we thought that we were right on the money bubble after we went into hand-for-hand play but it appears we have started hand-for-hand a little prematurely. We started five places away from the money bubble, which is a little unusual, as normally hand-for-hand would only occur right on the money bubble. We still require three more bustouts until we hit the money, which means the bubble may drag out a little longer than normal.

It's Miller Time

Harold Miller began the hand with 2200 in the big blind. After paying the blind and the ante he was left with 400 to spare. Two people limped and Miller decided to see the flop, checking his option.

The board came {3-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} and Miller bet his last 400 chips. Both players called. The reamaining two checked the turn and river as the {7-Clubs} {9-Clubs} hit the board.

Miller tabled{2-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} and took down the pot. Miller has 7,000 in chips.

Howie Eintracht Likes Jacks

The action folded to Steve Shulman in the small blind who raised it up to 6,000 before Howie Eintracht moved all in for additional 10,500. Shulman throught for a few moments before folding {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} face up. Eintracht showed {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} as he takes down a nice pot to stay alive and move to about 25,000 chips.

Gary Flur Gone

Gary Flur has been sent to the rail after getting his stack in on a flop of {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. Flur held {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of fives and the lead in the hand against his opponent's nut flush draw with {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

However the turn and river arrived {A-Spades}, {A-Diamonds} to give his opponent trips and eliminate Flur just before we reach the money stage.

Stansell Still Standing

Short-stacked John Stansell managed an early double-up through Thomas Baker.

Stansel got all his chips in the pot preflop with {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} against Baker's {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds} and the board blanked off {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {2-Diamonds}.

Stansel now has 4,500 and Baker has 52,000.
