The Master Goes Up the River

Men "The Master" Nguyen was the first limper into a pot from the hijack seat. The cutoff and both blinds followed suit, and it was four-handed to the flop.

It came {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {3-Spades}, and all four checked. The turn was the {6-Diamonds}. Faraz Jaka bet out 12,000 chips from the small blind, and the big blind folded. Action was on The Master, and he moved all in for a total of 40,200. The cutoff folded, and Jaka made the call. With betting complete, the hands were turned over:

Jaka: {9-Spades} {6-Clubs}
Nguyen: {Q-Hearts} {8-Hearts}

Men Nguyen was well ahead, but still had to sweat one more card to survive. Much to his displeasure, the {9-Clubs} peeled off on the river, making two pair for his opponent and spelling the end for The Master.

Two Big Stacks Make One Giant Stack

Mouritsen
Mouritsen
Brent Hanks made the wrong move at the wrong time. He got tangled in a pot with Rene Mouritsen in which only one would be left standing. Hanks made a bluff at the pot when the board read {10-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} by betting all in. Mouritsen had him covered by a few thousand and made the call with {7-Hearts} {7-Spades}. Hanks begrudgingly tabled {Q-Hearts} {6-Hearts} and knew he was drawing dead to Mouritsen's full house.

Three hands later Mouritsen still hasn't stacked all the chips. He has roughly 500,000 in chips.

Galajian v. Nervo

Anahit Galajian and Giovanni Nervo shipped it all in preflop, Nervo with {A-Clubs} {10-Hearts} and Galajian holding {A-Diamonds} {7-Spades}. Galajian was the one behind and at risk of elimination. Bad news for him: Nervo's kicker ended up playing when the board came {9-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {3-Clubs}, and Anahit Galajian is eliminated.

Echeverri KOs Skomac

Gustavo Echeverri knocked out Michael Skomac when his pocket kings beat Skomac's queen jack off suit. The money went in preflop and the board ran out{J-?} {9-?} {3-?} {A-?} {3-?} giving Echeverri the pot and Skomac a trip to the payout table.

O'Mealia Gone

Jim O'Mealia has been eliminated by Jeff Williams. O'mealia moved all in preflop and after going into the tank for a few minutes Williams made the call with {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}. O'Mealia tabled {A-Hearts} {9-Clubs} and the board came {8-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} giving Williams the pot.

Williams is up to 107,000.

The Proverbial Two Birds

In a three-way preflop all in, Bryan Asch, Albert Iversen, and Eric Semel got all their chips into the middle, with Iverson having both players covered. That was the end of the action, so the hands were shown:

Asch: {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
Iversen: {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}
Semel: {5-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}

With a pot of 300,000 chips on the line, all players anxiously awaited the deal. The board ran out {3-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {9-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}. Coming from behind to drag down that monster pot was Albert Iversen. In doing so, he knocks out both opponents and chips his way up to 335,000!

Busted McCrink

Jim McCrink moved all in from under the gun with {A-Spades} {10-Hearts}. Edmund Liu called him down with {6-Spades} {7-Spades} from the button.

McCrink was at risk of busting, and he did just that as the community cards came {5-Hearts} {10-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {4-Spades}. The river card gave Liu the winning nut straight, and sent McCrink home early.

A Big Race for Chan and Nielsen

In a pot worth over 200,000 chips, Terrance Chan and Thomas Nielsen got it all in preflop, with Chan being barely covered. He showed down {9-Spades} {9-Clubs} and was at risk of elimination, racing the {A-Spades} {K-Spades} of Nielsen.

With no further action, the board was run: {9-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {K-Clubs}. Chan's set on the flop earns a big pot from Nielsen, moving him up to 203,000. Nielsen, meanwhile, has been crushed all the way back to just 3,500 chips.
