Be Wary of Ware

Steve Ware
Steve Ware
Talk about running good. First Tony Hachem raised, Steve Ware reraised, and Hachem folded. Ware showed aces.

Then Ware called a hand down to the river with pocket queens (and an ace on board), and took down another pot.

Then Ware raised to 7,000 from middle position, Dan Shak reraised to 24,000, Ware repopped all in to 70,000, and Shak called instantly.

This time Ware had {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}. Shak was well behind with his {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. The board ran out {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}, and Ware had leapfrogged up to 142,000. Shak fell back to 57,000.

Kings Fail Pope

On a flop of {8-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and 20,000 in the middle, Aaron Wilt bet 22,000. Bryan Pope asked for a count of Wilt's chips -- 87,000 -- then made the call.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds}. Wilt pushed his remaining chips in, and with some apparent trepidation Pope made the call.

Wilt showed {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a set of eights, while Pope showed {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} for the overpair. The river was the {J-Clubs}, and Wilt collected 245,000. Pope is now down to 60,000.

Evdakov Running Good

Nikolay Evdakov made the money again in this year's WSOP. They do say that there is some luck involved with poker and it's always good to have lady luck on your side.

Evdakov recently got all in with {A-?} {9-?} up against {A-?} {J-?} and rivered a nine to stay alive and double. A couple hands later, he was at it again when the flop came down ten high and Evdakov got all in with {10-?} {7-?}. This time he was behind {J-?} {10-?}. Evdakov rivered a seven in this hand to double again.

He's up to 85,000 now.

Eight for Evdakov

Nikolay Evdakov Gets 8th WSOP Cash
Nikolay Evdakov Gets 8th WSOP Cash
With Strassmann's ouster, Nikolay Evdakov just secured his eighth cash of this summer's WSOP, tying the record. Evdakov was on the short stack, so he barely made it.

Cash!

Johannes Strassmann is our bubble boy. Down to 29,000, Strassmann pushed all in from under the gun with {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, and Jonathan Aguiar called him with {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}.

The board ran out {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. "You got there, you run good," said Strassmann to Aguiar. Aguiar then pointed out that Strassmann has run pretty well himself lately, with several recent WSOP and EPT cashes.

After 75 minutes of hand-for-hand play, we are finally in the money.
