Sorry Mikey

Mikey Stotz

On the button, Thomas Fuller raised to 16,000 and was reraised by Mikey Stotz, who went all in from the small blind. Fuller went into the tank before calling with {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Stotz turned over {j-Spades}{8-Spades}.

The window was the {8-Hearts}, but the rest of the flop brought two more hearts for Fuller's flush.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and Stotz started jumping up and down, calling for the board to pair or a jack to hit.

The river was the {q-Clubs} and Stotz was eliminated in 15th place.

Recent Eliminations

Frank Blumlein eliminated
Frank Blumlein eliminated
Frank Blumlein is out after running his {A-Hearts} {8-Spades} into Jared Okun's pocket queens. Blumlein caught an eight on the flop, but Okun caught a queen on the turn to seal the deal.

Jason DeWitt is also out. He got in a preflop raising war with Nathan Templeton and wound up with his whole stack in the middle in bad shape: his {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} against Templeton's {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. Both players paired their kickers, Templeton on the flop and DeWitt on the river. Templeton's pair of kings won the hand.

Tom Braband's Tens Don't Hold Up

Tom Braband is out
Tom Braband is out
After a raise to 17,000 by Devin Porter, Tom Braband moved his last 55,000 chips and was called. Braband had {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Porter showed {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and Braband was still ahead, but the {a-Clubs} landed on the turn and Braband needed some help.

The {3-Diamonds} came on the river, Braband put his hands on his head and headed to the rail, eliminated in 18th place.

Cardoza Eliminated; Play Pauses

Avery Cardoza eliminated
Avery Cardoza eliminated
Avery Cardoza's day is done. In a battle of the blinds, he took {8-Diamonds} {5-Spades} to war against Devin Porter's {K-Hearts} {10-Spades} and lost on a board of {10-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. His two pair was second best to Porter's trips. Porter is now up to 188,000.

Now that we are down to the final three tables, play has paused while players redraw for seats.

A Stay of Elimination

Kesselman was alive, for a moment
Kesselman was alive, for a moment
Eric Kesselman lived — then he was out.

Kesselman went all in with pocket fours on a board of 7-5-5-9 and was called by Jared Okun who had trips. After a river king, Kesselman had just 1,500 left.

"I live," said Kesselman shouting across the room, celebrating his two remaining chips.

Kesselman's celebration was short-lived.

On the next hand, Kesselman was all in with 8-2 against pocket kings.

Kesselman, who won a bracelet in pot limit hold'em in 2006, was eliminated in 20th place.

Play Slows to a Crawl

A few short stacks have been sent packing, but what was a wild and crazy 18 hours of preflop all ins and eliminations has slowed some.

Wait, we just heard someone scream. More to come...

Short Stacks Going Home

The short stack of Mikey Marquez is no more. He got his last chips in with {9-Clubs} {10-Spades} against Thomas Fuller's {A-Hearts} {2-Spades}. Not a bad place to be; at least he had two live cards. Unfortunately for Marquez an ace hit the flop, and the tun {9-Hearts} was not enough to save him. He is out of the tournament.

Fuller increased his stack to 155,000.

Last Woman is Out

New Yorker Stephanie Klempner's day is done. She moved all in preflop with pocket jacks and was called by Nathan Templeton, who held {K-Spades} {Q-Spades}. Templeton turned a king to send Klempner to the rail in 22nd place. The $11,135 should provide some solace for her.

Only men remain in today's field.
