The International Game

Of the 16 players remaining, seven are from the United States, three hail from Canada, two call Denmark home and one represents Russia.

Two players claim a "Korean-American" status while another has dual citizenship in the USA and Switzerland.

This is further proof that poker has indeed gone global.

Fighting for Elbow Room

Table #2
Table #2
The ESPN TV table may attract the lion’s share of spectators but that doesn’t mean a lot of attention isn’t paid to the feature table located just outside the Milwaukee’s Best Light Lounge. There’s a big (and often rowdy) crowd standing along the length of the rail and peering down from the bar section of the lounge.

And the area within the ropes is a bit crowded as well, even accounting for the eight players sitting around the table. There are three cameramen recording the action, two sound technicians, two ESPN producers, two photographers, a floorman, our field reporter, and a partridge in a pear tree. Though that last one is only rumored.

The Other Foot

After picking up several pots with big preflop reraises Kelly Kim learned how that feels when he opened for 325,000 and Ivan Demidov made it 900,000 to go. Kim laid it down and now sits with 7.34 million, while Demidov is now up to 5.6 million.

The Players Get a Raise

It's All About the Benjamins
With the elimination of Anthony Scherer in 16th place, the remaining players have just hit another "money jump." Scherer, along with Tiffany Michelle and Jason Riesenberg, took home $334,534 for their impressive finishes. However, the next three players to leave will pocket $463,201 - not a bad wage for six-and-a-half days of work.

Owen Crowe Takes a Hit

Owen Crowe
Owen Crowe
One of the shorter stacks remaining, Owen Crowe got even shorter when he raised to 325,000 and Darus Suharto made it 925,000 to go. Crowe folded and he's now down to 3.3 million, while Suharto is up to 13.8 million.

Chino Rheem Takes Two from Kelly Kim

The two played big back-to-back hands. In the first Rheem raised to 325,000 from late position and Kim called from the big blind. The flop came {8-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} and Kim check-called Rheem's 450,000 bet. Both players checked the {5-Diamonds} on the turn, and when Kim bet 500,000 after the {9-Spades} fell on the turn Chino quickly called. His {Q-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} was good and Kim mucked his hand.

Immediately thereafter Craig Marquis raised to 325,000 and after Rheem called Kim did the same from the small blind. The flop came {K-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {7-Spades} and after Kim and Marquis checked Rheem bet 325,000. Kim called and Craig folded.

Kim and Rheem checked it down after the {8-Spades} on the turn and {7-Hearts} on the river, and when Chino rolled over {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} Kim's hand again ended up in the muck. He's now up to 6 million while Kim has slipped down to 5.8 million.
