Niklas Flisberg Eliminated in 25th Place ($257,334)

Joe Bishop opened for 280,000, and Niklas Flisberg moved all in. Bishop did his usual "stand up and walk away from the table" routine as he made his decision.

"You got an ace, bro?" he asked before making the call.

Flisberg immediately turned up {A-Spades}

. Bishop clapped his hands together and walked back over to the table to flip over his {A-Clubs}

.

Bishop's act provoked some boos from his tablemates, who perhaps looked at it as a slow-roll.

"'You got an ace bro?' Come on..." said one player.

The flop was {A-Diamonds}

, but the turn was the {3-Spades}

, eliciting a huge "OOOOOHHHHH!!" from the crowd as Flisberg picked up a flush draw.

"Karma!" called out one spectator as Bishop stood, with his back to the table, waiting for the river card.

The river was the {4-Hearts}

and Flisberg was eliminated. Bishop walked over to his opponent and shook his hand, with a quick apology. Flisberg appeared undeterred and made his exit in 26th place, off to collect his $257,334 in earnings.

Unfortunately, the Tournament Director called the wrong name over the loudspeakers, announcing that Nicholas Sliwinski had been eliminated, not Flisberg. For the record, Sliwinski is alive and well and still playing in the tournament.

Walk Off That Limp

Owen Crowe and Anthony Scherer played a pot where Scherer limped in the small blind, Crowe checked from the big, and they checked the hand all the way down, with Crowe picking up the pot with queen-high.

On the next hand Crowe was in the small blind and when it was again folded around Crowe limped in from the small blind. Craig Marquis was having none of that and raised to 260,000. That's when Crowe showed that he wasn't playing passive and popped it to 660,000. Marquis mucked and Crowe picked up another pot.

Scratch That

As has become the norm in the late stages of play, whenever an elimination occurs, a tournament supervisor will announce the player's name and position over the P.A. The player will typically get an obligatory round of applause from the bystanders here in the Amazon Room.

Just recently, an announcement was made congratulating "Nicholas Sliwinski" as our 25th-place finisher. This announcement drew a bit of confusion from the gallery, as Sliwinksi is still very much alive in the event.

A few seconds later, the announcement was retracted and we were all told to "disregard that." A few minutes later, it was announced that it was, in fact, Niklas Flisberg that was eliminated.

The confusion presumably resulted from both players having similar first names.

Albert Kim Chips Up

Albert Kim has been chipping up nicely recently, after a couple of successful three-bet preflop steals.

He first squeezed when the 225,000 opening raise of Darus Suharto was called by Dennis Phillips. Kim made it 1,025,000 to force a fold from his opponents.

A few moments later he three-bet the opening raise from Nicholas Sliwinski and again took down a nice pot without seeing a flop.

Kim is now up to 4.8 million chips.

Aaron Gordon Eliminated in 24th Place ($257,334)

Aaron Gordon limped into the pot as did Jason Riesenberg. Darus Suharto then made it 330,000 from the button and the blinds stepped aside. Gordon then announced a reraise to 900,000, Riesenberg folded, and Suharto moved all in. Gordon put his last 735,000 into the middle to make the call.

to eliminate Aaron Gordon in 24th place for $257,334 in prize money.

Demidov Takes Some Chips Off Kim

Ivan Demidov raised to 250,000 and Kelly Kim called from the small blind. The flop was {A-Diamonds}

. Kim checked, Demidov bet 380,000 and Kim called. The turn was the {6-Spades}

. Kim checked, Demidov bet 850,000, Kim gave it up and Demidov won the pot.
