It's Not Easy Having Yourself a Good Time

On a flop of {J-Spades} {4-Hearts} {5-Hearts}, the action was checked to Jerry Yang, who bet 10,500. This was a massive overbet of the pot. When his opponent folded, Yang showed {3-Spades} {3-Diamonds} and said, "Now remember boys, next time I overbet the pot, I might have a monster."

Yang then proceeded to ask everyone at the table if they were having a good time.

Remember Me

Allen Cunningham
Allen Cunningham
Allen Cunningham has quietly crept up close to the 45,000-chip mark. He had just scooped another small pot when someone called out from the rail.

"Hey, Allen! Ventura, California, baby! Thousand Oaks!"

Cunningham smiled. "But I'm not from there," he said.

Didn't deter the railbird, who went on to explain how he lived there. "And I'm growing grape wine grapes wine," he added excitedly.

"You're drinking grape wine grape wine," cracked Brett Jungblut, sitting to Cunningham's left.

After the fellow clarified what he actually was drinking (Bacardi & Coke), he went on to point out how he'd played with Cunningham back at the Commerce. Cunningham nodded, graciously listening for a short while. "But I can't talk about it just now," he shrugged.

"Love ya," he called, fading back into the crowd. "Ventura, California!"

Men the Master's Stack Halved

Aces Cracked!
Aces Cracked!
Men "The Master" Nguyen bet out on a {9-?} {9-?} -X flop with {A-?} {A-?}, his opponent moved all in with {K-?} {9-?} and Nguyen made the call. His 40,000 stack was chopped in half on the hand and he now sits with his starting stack of 20,000.

Haber Rolls with a Steel Wheel

Eric Haber was one of three people to call a preflop raise to 950. On a flop of {3-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {2-Diamonds}, the preflop raiser bet 2,300, folding two of the other players. Haber was the only one to make the call. On the turn {A-Diamonds}, the preflop raiser checked to Haber, who bet 3,000. He was immediately raised to 20,000, enough to put him all in. Haber's chips beat his opponent's into the pot when he called all in for less, and he tabled {4-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} for a straight flush. His opponent showed {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts} for a turned set. The river was a meaningless {7-Hearts}.

The next hand, Haber was dealt pocket rockets of his own and managed to extract a few chips from a player with pocket nines who ultimately folded preflop. Haber now has about 50,000.

Jett Flies High

Chip Jett just eliminated another player after calling an all-in preflop with A-K against his opponent's A-Q. Jett's hand held up and he's currently sitting with a nice stack of 59,000.

Aces Up His Sleeve

There was a big commotion going on over in the middle of the Brasilia room at Al Adler and Phil Gordon's table. Gordon was seen lifting up the sleeves of another player at his table.

John Dolmayan showed aces for the eighth time in the past two levels and for the ninth time today. After he showed, the table burst out in laughter and amazement. Gordon ran over to shake out Dolmayan's sleeves and check to see if he had any aces up there. "No more, no more," joked Gordon.

Al Adler rubbed Dolmayan's head for good luck.

"It's my birthday, not yours," said Gordon as today is his birthday.

On the next hand, Gordon was able to get somewhat of a birthday present when a player gave him all his chips in the hand, bumping Gordon up to 60,000.
