Flop Sends Walter Down the Hall

Also before the break, Walter Hall pushed his last 80,000 all in on a flop of {8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, and Jeremiah Smith called.

Hall had pocket kings, while Smith had 7-5 for the flopped straight. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and the river the {9-Spades}, and Hall is out.

"Flop it like it's hot!" said Smith as he gathered the chips. He's up to 400,000 now.

Crusher Crain

Just before the break, an early position player bet 25,000 on a {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop, and Eric Crain reraised to 57,300. His opponent went into the tank, then pushed all in for a bit more than Crain's bet.

"You made the right call, man," said Crain, as he called the extra chips. Crain turned over {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flush draw. His opponent had {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

Fortunately for Crain, the {K-Hearts} popped out on the turn, giving him his flush and making the river {10-Diamonds} inconsequential. Crain is down way up to 355,000.

Pechie's Courageous Call

We caught this hand on the turn with the board reading {J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and Justin Pechie firing out a bet. He was check-raised by his opponent and put to a decision for all of his chips and after several minutes in the tank he finally made a brave call with {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. His opponent revealed {A-Spades}{10-Spades} for a bluff attempt.

The river was the {K-Spades} to give Pechie the pot to leap to 96,000 chips.

Ka-Powell

T6 sponsored player, Julian Powell, has just been eliminated before the last break of the day. He called a raise in late position with {10-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} and then reraised his opponent all in on a {4-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} board.

Unfortunately for him, his opponent had {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} and, when the turn came {3-Hearts} and river {5-Hearts}, Powell's exit was confirmed.

Jeff Williams Claims Another

An early-position player raised to 3,000 before Jeff Williams popped it up to 10,000 from late position. Jean Claude Moussa then moved all in to 27,000 from the button, the EP folded, with Williams making the call.

Williams: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Moussa: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

The flop of {J-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} gave Moussa a set, but the turn and river came {K-Spades}{8-Spades} to give Williams a flush and the pot. Moussa is eliminated, while Williams, who earlier today was down to his last 6,000 chips, is now up to 185,000.

John Hennigan Eliminated

John Hennigan was cruising with a big stack but according to his table, he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, when he bluffed off most of his chips with king-high on a ten-high board against a player holding top pair.

A few minutes later, Hennigan found his last chips in the middle with pocket sixes but ran into an opponent holding pocket tens. The board bricked out and Hennigan hits the rail

Dario Doubles, Then Done

Dario Alioto Eliminated
Dario Alioto Eliminated
Dario Alioto was a little short-stacked when he made a move with {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and the big blind called with {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} to give Alioto two pair and the double up.

"Ha, you were crushed I knew it!" exclaimed Alioto as he moved to 26,000 chips.

However, a few minutes later he was all in again with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} in a classic race with an opponent's {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}. This time the board wasn't as obliging as it landed {2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts} to give his opponent a pair of aces and send Alioto to the exit.
