Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman
A middle-position player opened for 3,700, a late-position player reraised to 12,000, Nick Schulman moved all in from the button for 20,000, the MP player folded and the LP player called. Schulman's {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} were up against {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}, and could not improve on the {K-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {A-Hearts} board.

Life of Bryan

Jeff Bryan
Jeff Bryan
Is a good one, at the moment. He had about 230,000 not too long ago when he raised before the flop. Michael Graydon, down to about 30,000, reraised, and Bryan made the call.

By the time they got to the turn, the board showed 2-5-6-2. Graydon pushed his last 19,000 in the middle, and Bryan called him. Bryan showed {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for fives and deuces, well ahead of Graydon's ace-queen.

The river was a nine, and Graydon was eliminated. Bryan is up to 260,000.

Hunter: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}

The turn was the {10-Clubs}, the river was the {J-Clubs} and the seven-time bracelet winner was eliminated.

After the hand, Hunter was up to 282,000.

She-Bot

Maya Antonius
Maya Antonius
Maya Antonius is sitting in the small blind and called a raise from a late-position player before the flop came {J-Spades} {K-Spades} {8-Hearts}. Maya led out for a 5,000 bet and was called.

The turn came {Q-Spades} prompting Antonius to bet 8,000 and once again she was called. The river {A-Clubs} was the action killer as both players checked.

Antonius flipped over {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} for a flopped set. It was good for the pot as her opponent showed {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} for two-pair.

Mrs. Antonius up to 125,000 now.

Brian Schaedlich Takes a Hit

With the board reading {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} Brian Schaedlich bet 32,000 into the 50,000 pot and his opponent called, turning up {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs}. Schaedlich angrily slammed his {7-Spades} {8-Spades} on the table as the pot was pushed away from him. He's down to 375,000 now.

Brooks Rivered

Joey Brooks has been eliminated after pushing his short stack into the middle with {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} against his opponent's {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. The board delivered a cruel river with {4-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} givng his opponent a set to send Brooks to the rail.

Jousting with Jeremiah

Jeremiah Smith (from Day 1a)
Jeremiah Smith (from Day 1a)
Jeremiah Smith raised to 3,000 from early position, and Stefan Mattsson called him from the big blind. The flop came {9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. Mattsson checked, Smith bet 10,000, Mattsson check-raised to 26,500, and Smith called.

The turn brought the {9-Spades}. Mattsson bet 25,000. "You just fire away, don't you?" said Smith. He then pushed all in for about 200,000 (well covering Mattsson).

Mattsson thought a bit, then folded. Smith showed his hand -- {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Mattsson said he'd folded pocket jacks.

Smith now has 275,000, while Mattsson has slipped to 89,000.

Iribarren Doubles With Two Pair

A middle-position player raised to 3,200 and Fernando Iribarren called from late position. The flop was {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {J-Hearts} and Iribarren called his opponent's 4,000 bet. The turn was the {2-Hearts}. The MP player bet 20,000, Iribarren moved all in and the MP player called. Iribarren turned up {A-Hearts} {2-Spades}, besting his opponent's {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} for a higher two pair. The river was the {6-Spades} and he dragged the monster pot, increasing his stack to 137,000.

Sinaei Doesn't Like His Overpair, But It's Good

We caught up with this hand on the river. In a very, very large pot, Farhad Sinaei faced an all-in river bet of 22,000 from his opponent, with the board showing {6-Clubs} {5-Spades} {2-Hearts} {4-Spades} {4-Clubs}. He was in the tank, muttering and cursing under his breath. Finally he said, "If you got me, you got me," and made the call. His opponent turned up {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}; Sinaei slammed down {7-Clubs} {7-Hearts} in jubilant victory.

He is now up to about 300,000 in chips.

Queen High is Good!

With the board reading {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {7-Spades} {4-Spades} {A-Diamonds} on the river, Tuan Nguyen checked, and Andrea Benelli bet 2,400.

"I feel like my queen high is good here," said Benelli as he tossed out the bet. Nguyen made the call.

Benelli indeed, turned over {Q-Diamonds} {5-Spades} for queen high, and it was the best hand. Nguyen claimed ten high as he mucked and Benelli raked in the pot.
